Would you rather they rush it through?

i would expect when you are accused of 3 rapes there would be some urgency to it.

So refs are enforcing a rule where the players will be booked for kicking the ball away after a freekick is given (I thought that was always the rule) How long until they start ignoring that rule? I give them until after the first international break, same as every season. Remember 2 seasons ago they said they would stop giving soft fouls? it didn't last long.

Mikel Arteta is going to get 15 yellow cards this season

he has no control over his emotions

Well that should be at least a dozen less than Klopp then.

also, remember when they said only captain is allowed to comunicate or protest with the ref

Rodri nearly chips Ramsdale from the halfway line. And to think that a few people on here thought Jorginho was the better player. There is not one single facet of the game that J5 was ever better than Rodri.

Rodri was probably the best midfielder in the world last season

In theory it is a really good rule that should have been introduced years ago. BUT you are right Scott. It all comes down to the match officials being consistent and impartial in implementing it. Our first game with Anthony Taylor in charge will be interesting.

Havertz starts at ST for Arsenal.

Then does everything we fully expected of him 😅

I personally don't care too much about kicking the ball away a bit (once = warning, twice =yellow for me) . But surrounding ref and tactical foul need to be punished harshly.

Havertz miss chances = water is wet

First chance Bob was a half chance and I don't think he did a lot wrong.

Second opportunity was more clear cut and he should definitely have finished it.

I also think that refs need more support from FA to carry out their decisions. If it’s not going the clubs way they will start putting pressure on the refs. FA should start dishing out fines and suspensions that mean something.

I'd hope so. Realistically there will be so many highly paid lawyers all over it the player will worm his way out of things somehow. Just look what happened with Ched Evans.

And also managers intimidating officials with screaming and touchline histrionics like Klopp does numerous times a season.

but then they also need to do post match interviews to explain themselves

It's insane. Everyone acting like Arteta was doing a master class when signing him. Then turns out he was planning to use him exactly how we did all season in a position that he just doesn't have the killer instinct for.

Couple that with Kovacic continuing to be the lovely to watch but zero impact player for city. I cant believe those two have gone for 100m.

If that's what our opponents scouting teams think will improve their teams it gives me genuine hope we are going to be title challengers soon

City's football gets the job done and has made them a very successful team, but I find them very boring to watch. The worst part is that everybody is trying to emulate this style in some way. In ten years, nobody is going to look back on this football fondly, it's forgettable.
