I believe Pochettino stated Nkunku would likely get only around 20 minutes.

Think he actually said Nkunku is only good for around 20 minutes at this stage of his recovery. In general, rather than referring to tonight.

Poch loves to take his time with players returning from injury.  Clearly acting on better info than my unqualified subjective opinion, but why does it feel like every other team reintroduces injured players quicker than we do.  We slow roll it and they never really get going.

Depends on the injury. Nkunku came back from a relatively serious knee one which is understandable if we want to take our time. If we look at Carney for example, after his knee injury it seems like he reinjured something and has left him out to the point where we haven't a clue if he's playing again this season.

My gripe is Nkunku being on the bench if he isn't going to play. Lacking match sharpness/fitness is one thing, not wanting to re-risk an injury is another. If the latter he shouldn't even be on the bench.

Newcastle:

Dubravka

Krafth, Lascelles, Botman, Livramento

Bruno, Longstaff, Miley

Almirion Wilson Gordon

Guess Joelinton, Isak, Tripper and Schar did not make it after all

Hey that is exactly as I expected Pochettino  to go.

Depends which Chelsea shows up tonight...the most recent against Newcastle and Everton or the one against City and Arsenal.   Gordon and Amiron just might have a field day tonight against 4 centre backs.

Wonder if Sky Sports don't call this nonsense I'm watching the 'Newcastle Pod cast'...been dripping all over the Toon for the last 35 minutes including the list of injuries they have...of course nothing on our injury list...yet at least.  I guess we'll see what balanced reporting actually is..

Some “expert” Nick somerbeee on the tv channel I’m watching just aske “why nkunku hasn’t been a success in England after being so good on the continent”. Dunno whether to turn the sound off or record for posterity.

He clearly hasn't settled and rumor has it Boehly and co are looking to loan him out in January.  Anyway, back to media darlings Newcastle and their injury crisis

I heard he’s going back to bundesliga, back to Dortmund, taking mudryck with him.

They'll show up tonight. We've had a cup team mentality for the longest time.

Love your optimism, me on the other hand don’t trust this team yet.
