May 2, 20242 yr I know how much we all love a poll but putting this into the rumour section because it's still up in the air until the end of the season. Choose your fighter and explain why you'd think they would be a good appointment to lead this group and to be under this ownership. Will they appoint another yes man or will they inject a bit of fire into the club with someone like Conte or Tuchel. Had a look at the next manager odds and picked a few favourites and some old faces. Edited May 2, 20242 yr by Sheva
May 2, 20242 yr doesnt matter. we'll still have 10+ players injured every week, and the rest underperforming
May 2, 20242 yr Author If we were under Roman I'd be on the phone to Tuchel today but we're not so I picked Amorim as he's seems a pretty good upcoming manager who could potentially work with this ownership structure. He also has no history of a rival team and the added baggage of being a premier league manager. I say that as in Eddie Howe or Thomas Frank could be decent for us but there's this feeling I get that they already are deemed not good enough for us just like Potter was.
May 2, 20242 yr Love Conte but if we got him in I reckon most of this lot would run home to their mum halfway through the first training session.
May 2, 20242 yr According to scousers, seems Liverpool spoke with targets and Amorim was likely preferred, but seems Amorim's demands were too much, and so they've gone with Slot.

I've always been in the belief their players have upped their performances due to Klopp's system. The recent history of Eredivisie managerial exports has been so poor. It is not a good track record! McClaren, De Boer, Cocu, Van Bronckhorst, ten Hag.....that's your list of title winners since 2010 who tried new leagues afterwards. There is also Peter Bosz who was sacked within 5 months at Dortmund and Lyon. Alfred Schreuder was moved on after just a season by Hoffenheim. Van Bommel lasted 5 months at Wolfsburg.

Can't understand their philosophy to be honest it all this is true - Amorim being their first choice but demanding too much. I guess we don't know if the demands stretched beyond salary but if not it's dumb. If the past few years should have taught them anything it's that a great manager is worth his weight in major trophies.
May 3, 20242 yr As this is the world of fantasy and won't happen, I went fro Other - Terzic of Dortmund. I've been an admirer of the long term philosophy of fast paced, get the ball through the lines quickly and continue with high energy pressing and attacking to the end. Terzic seems to follow a line of similar managers and I like his overall approach. Never happen. I like Amorim and unlike some others I don't see that a 3 atb formation needs to be negative. One of those CBs can move to DM in some games to make us more attacking. However I quite like the dynamic of our forward line and wouldn't really want to sacrifice any of these positions. Plus there probably would need some serious investment in certain areas to accommodate Amorim's formation.
May 3, 20242 yr With the exception of Amorim contact with whom Chelsea have reputed, all of the managers that we're linked with seem to be the ones that don't have compensation payments required. It's almost as if a bunch of lazy arse journos and social media needs have somehow made the startling discovery that Chelsea want a new manager amid FFP concerns and there are managers out there currently unemployed or will be in the summer. Hmm, surely Chelsea must be linked with Tuchel, Mourinho, Conte, or Hansi Flick. Surely not.
May 3, 20242 yr Christian Falk stated we have contacted Flick but he's relatively unreliable outside of Germany.
May 3, 20242 yr Our manager should be Poch next season. it looks like we could sneak top 6 this season and I remember the thread where almost everyone had us around there before the season started. To get 6th with the injuries we’ve had would be a decent achievement. Imo he deserves more time.

I know @Zeta as a non-Waffler, but polishing up his Waffle may be part of his UEFA courses. I can confirm he will look dashing in his touchline dark suit and shirt, another important criterium. However, how will his arm fracture heal... can he point? Still voted Conte. It will be a trainwreck, but as long as our American 'let's teach those Eurpeans how this soccer business should be run' owners are in charge, we might as well make it entertaining. We'll need a laugh. Edited May 3, 20242 yr by Valerie
