Current odds on Maresca being sacked courtesy of Oddschecker. He was 4/5 a few hours ago and Nuno was 9/2 then.

I suspect if all the major bookies drop their odds he’s definitely toast!!

Odds on our perpetually £margins-thirsty owners sniffing a great opportunity with Glasner's contract running down, thus inflicting a painfully dull back three system on our eyes for the next few years?

Agreed, I think this site creates an average based on multiple sites. He was 12/1 a couple of days ago so for the odds to be slashed like this somebody has put down a lot of money and/or there’s inside knowledge.

I don't think he's done a bad enough job to be sacked mid season to be honest, a caretaker manager would just be a shambles like 2022/23

I wouldn't be keen on a caretaker manager either but can't agree he hasn't done a bad enough job. He has done a howler of a job and we are only going to get worse and first the longer he is in charge. Better to lance the boil before the infection spreads even wider. His team selections, tactics and inability to make effective changes are shambolic. America made wiser decisions in their last presidential election.

Interesting that the media are now being briefed AGAINST Maresca

“Inside details: Maresca sought to raise his own profile following success, he planned to publish a book, which was blocked by the club, and then spoke at IL Festivo dello sport in Torino, an event organised by newspaper La Gazetta Dello Sport, without Chelsea’s permission. (@NizaarKinsella)”

Enzo Maresca is at risk of Chelsea sack, if he cannot improve results before the end of January. The board’s preference is to wait until the end of the season before reviewing Maresca. The signs have pointed to a summer departure until now. (via @guardian_sport)

Would be rare for a top level manager to walk away from a big pay out.

It probably depends what he has lined up. But I agree he is unlikely to just walk away. I suspect there will be one of those settlements where both parties mutually agree to terminate his contract. A bit like what happened with Poch who wasn't technically fired.

It would be damning for this ownership and the sd's if a second manager in a row decides to walk. Only one manager ever walked out on Abramovich's Chelsea, and that was Sarri, and even then, it was more to do with being home sick than anything football related and he even later said it was a mistake.

I don't care for Maresca and if he was sacked tomorrow my mood wouldn't change. Core issue remains upstairs, it's not Todd and to be honest I don't think it's the sporting directors because they are just doing the bidding of one man.

Behdad Eghbali is the main issue and until he decides to put his ego away then the circus will continue. The fact that all the dirty laundry just gets aired out in media briefs just sums up the state of this club.

My prediction is he gets sacked, caretaker manager comes in (probably the guy at Strasbourg) and then the merry go round continues in the summer

That would be crazy. We have too much to play for to throw away the entire season like that. It wouldn't surprise me if they do that though.

Maybe hes going to that great big club that he thinks hes getting……Celtic?

No it wont be Strasbourg bloke they are struggling in an easier league, (if they appoint him the supporters need to boycott the next game)

I still hope it will be Iraola or Glasner, DONT BE SURPRISED IF THEY APPOINT SOUTHGATE OR BRENDON ROGERS

Rodgers went to Saudi a couple of weeks ago.
