Aaron Anselmino

Featured Replies

That suddenly got very expensive.  Originally the fee they were talking about was close to £13.3 million.

What do we know about him?

Anselmino mainly operates as a defender and has been described as a "tower that clears everything head-on and almost always prevails in one-on-one situations"

He is 186cm.
right-footed.
ten appearances in football with one goal.

Apparently his Current Market Value : €3m. [ i am sure we can make an offer higher than that for him].  A fee in the region of £17million, including add-ons. A six year deal.

On his way to Strasbourg apparently.

£20m ish for this guy

£30m plus for Willian

£19m for kellyman

£6m for Guiu

Thats a lot of money on players that most likely won’t play for us this season or ever.  Have a feeling this isn’t end of it either.  Only player we’ve signed for the first team is a freebie that I’m not sure is a starter.  When are we going to sign someone to improve our first team?

So i watched some youtube clips and settled in for these to be overhyped and overly positive. But actually from what i saw he looks bloody reckless, diving in everywhere. Of course it was Youtube , so he won them and came out with the ball, but with the pace and cleverness of the PL i can see this guy being a nightmare over here, going by those clips.

Well if we are getting a transfer ban in the future due to FFP then why not buy for the future today?

Strasbourg is his first destination - he has only ever played 10 pro games so it is amazing they could fill a you tube reel.

Planning to get banned seems a little backwards.

It seems to be a bit tough for us fans now that we can't judge players right from the bat. We buy someone young and don't see or hear from them for years.

Going by what I've read so far...

Guiu and estevan (when he arrives next year) are being groomed to be first teamers. I'd assume the other 2 are profit/sell later players.

Tbh...until we see who Maresca picks for the squad in August it's all speculation on who's staying or going. I hope he surprises us.

Also for what it's worth...I don't understand how estevan can jump straight in once he arrives (like they say)! I'd definitely give him a season or 2 on loan first but then again he might surprise us.

I don't think our plan is that rigid so to say. If Estevan doesn't look like a first teamer we can load him to Strasbourg for example. Same with Guiu. For Guiu the path to games is much shorter. We only have Jackson in front of him in terms of pure strikers. Nkunku could be utilized there as well. We'll have to wait and see

Both Neymar and Vini Jr went straight into Barca/Madrid first team squads.

First season for both were average, but they played. Second season Neymar was on fire, Vini took a couple of years to hit his stride.

Loaning out, never going to happen for him, that's who we are comparing him to.

We're they both only 18 at the time?

I'd honestly be worried they'd get injured with the first strong tackle. The premier league is rougher than all those other leagues. A year in strasbourg or somewhere shouldn't harm them. They get an idea of how the game is played in Europe then come over. Even then maybe 6 months in the championship to get over the shock of it all too. Lol

Yup, both also signed before they could join same as.

I think your underestimating how highly rated he is. He's ballondor potential. He's not going out on loan.

I expect he will instantly be a better player than sterling and Mudryk were for us last year. And provided he doesn't get injured should be ahead of them by year 2.

This I have to see...getting excited now and it's still another year 😫

*ballondor, love it. I'm spelling it like that from now on. Lol

I'm looking forward to seeing this guy but I do agree with others in that I'm tempering my enthusiasm until it can be proven he can play at this level.

I don't doubt his potential and he already looks fantastic but the level of defending I have seen in most of the clips are effectively park football standard. Shocking. How will he fare in a league as competitive and physically strong as the PL. History shows that there are a lot of new lessons for these kids to learn. You can have the fastest, most powerful and sleekest Ferrari in the world, it looks no better than any other car, crawling round a clogged up M25 at rush hour. In this league defenders stay with you every step of a 40 yard run, not just the first two yards

Spot on, i'm worried a strong tackle comes in, as he wouldn't expect it, takes him out and scares the poor kid for life...lol

The small skinny kid needs a heads up somehow. What's the saying "a cold/wet winter night at Stoke..."

Sounds like a character from Lord of the Rings LOL

Ikr...it was late, tired, etc. Took me a fee secs for it to click, had to read it a few times. Made me smile when It clicked though.

Forever shall it be known as "Ballondor the great" ("the white" might sound racist, grey doesn't work, is it actually real gold? Lol)

Key is having the right manager that allows them to express themselves, and not shackle them with tactics. Vini & Rodrygo would never have developed to this stage if Zidane had continued as Madrid’s manager. The club would probably have been more successful, but he is a tactical manager at heart. Under Ancelotti; the focus is more on the system, and he allows his creative players free reign to express themselves.

So is he going to be one of the allowed 3 for us to send to Strasbourg?

Him, Santos and...Kellyman perhaps? Maybe Angelo goes for another year to make up for all his injury time.

I think you are only allowed 2 loan deals to the same team. The need to buy a Spanish & a Portuguese club for this to work.

Have you watched Brazilian football, it's absolutely brutal, way more physical than our league.
