They say the new rule comes into play next season Pity the refs don’t implement the old rule now, Brighton keeper caught the ball from a corner and then fell down on it, climbed back up before launching it up field, he had the ball in his hands for 12 seconds

Football lawmakers approve MAJOR rule change for goalkeepers

The referee counts down the final five seconds on their hand and under the law change a corner will be awarded if they exceed the limit instead of an indirect free-kick.

They will use this rule until the first international break, then ignore it after, like they do every season.

Bruno Fernandes has been given motm in every game of late, but every time I watch him, he's sh*t. He's capable of getting a goal, but his overall game is terrible. Anybody with eyes today can see De Ligt has been the best player on the pitch.

City go to Bournemouth, perhaps the hardest draw they could get.

Real chance for an outside expectations winner.

Not sure if this has been posted as well, but Man City are the subject of a European Commission investigation: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/feb/27/la-liga-president-javier-tebas-accuses-manchester-city-enron-esque-financial-deception

Hard to see there is anything in it, it seems like an allegation without hard evidence and is still being investigated by the EC. However, there might be a few smoking guns in the evidence City has been submitting regarding its APT rules challenges, given the nature of the sponsorship agreements they wanted. Essentially Tebas/La Liga are claiming that Man City has hidden its true losses by having UAE-sponsored companies render services below market rates. So for example instead of paying for marketing directly from the club's revenue, the club invoices a marketing company in the UAE, who charge City a nominal fee while it cops the actual cost and loss.

The weakness with La Liga's complaint is that UEFA have ostensibly already assessed, and approved, these relationships for Fair Market Value. It is going to be hard to argue that these relationships provide a competitive advantage when the governing body itself approved the transactions.

No ambition some managers, Ipswich with a really good chance of getting to Wembley, if they can beat Forest they then play Brighton, but they decide to put out a weakened team, i get they want to prioritise staying up BUT will they ever get a better chance with all the big teams apart from City out, the odds are seriously against them not going down and if you asked their supporters most would have wanted to try to win this game

Referee clearly doesn’t know the rule, head tennis in Forest box, Forest captain heads the back of Ipswich player, ball goes to Ipswich player on edge of the box, Forest captain goes down clutching his head ref stops the game, Forest captain jumps up has no treatment, BUT ref gives ball to Forest keeper instead of Ipswich on the edge of box, Ipswich players fuming

Any chance of us buying Murillo in the summer? Knows how to defend has pace and a great shot on him

Depends if he can translate that to Maresca’s high line football.

I do wonder if Forrest will have PSR issues this summer, especially if they fail to get Champions league.

Totally agree with the sentiment.

Cautionary tale though, in 1994 Oldham got through to the SF, was 30 secs away in extra time at Wembley from dumping ManU out of the cup and up pops Sparky with a goal probably only he would have scored. Match went to a replay, Kanchelskis ripped Oldham a new one at Maine Road. David Ellerey went on to get MoM in the final and Oldham lost the last 6 games of the season and were relegated...theyre now in the National League.

The rich get richer. Echeverri will be a star.

The 19-year-old arrives in Manchester off the back of a spectacular Under-20 South American Championship campaign, where he captained his nation to a runners-up finish.

His six goals in nine appearances made him the second highest scorer at the tournament, with braces against Brazil and Uruguay the standout contributions
