Pedro Neto *Official*

Featured Replies

Had his worst game for us against City but he’s our most effective player wide left assuming Estevao and Palmer play on the right and centrally.

He offers just as much going forward than Gittens or Garnacho and is miles ahead of them defensively.

That’s from the eye test

£20 for an appointment at specsavers, can usually fit you in the same week

When are you going?

Neto has been more effective than both Garnacho and Gittens. I don’t know how you can really argue against that.

Is he a world beater? Of course not and we should be looking at better but so far neither of the other two are.

7 games, 1 goal (West Ham), 0 assists from LW this season. 505 minutes total, contribution every 505 minutes.

Gittens 1 goals, 5 assists, 15 games. 858 minutes total, contribution every 143 minutes.

Garnacho 4 goals, 3 assists, 20 games. 1080 minutes total, contribution every 154 minutes.

So back to your original point, from left wing he doesn’t offer so much more going forward. In fact, quite the opposite.

The defensive side of his game being completely lied about still. Running with your head down occasionally isn’t being good defensively.

He makes less fouls because he doesn’t do anything. Everything else the other two players are better than him at.

Facts don’t care about your eye test.

One player is 25 with 7 seasons in the league and in his prime, the other two are barely in their 20’s.

The stats say you should be championing Gittens and not Garnacho LOL

I don't really disagree with the overall point (that Neto isn't great), but these stats need to be taken with a heaping spoonful of context. Gittens has made four starts in the league and ten appearances off the bench, seven of which were when protecting a lead. In only 449 minutes total, that will skew his defensive stats just a little...

Aye ok Statto.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

As always you don’t give an ounce and fill the page with stats. Gittens has offered next to nothing so far. Garnacho has done ok at times but his defensive work is awful. We even have a classic example of Garnacho’s inability to properly defend against Bournemouth when he was nowhere for both goals. This isn’t a one off. He was doing the same at Man Utd.

Neto has been far more effective than both. Granted most of his best work is off the right but I don’t trust either Garnacho and Gittens yet. They might get there but I’m not too confident.

I've just been to Specsavers and got a free eye test I've ordered glasses online £16 for 2 pairs.

I like Neto because he often/ sometimes affects games positively however he was very poor recently.

I like Garnacho because he looks like he might do something...soon.

Gittens I do not like, he's no more use than ornament. Ashtray on a motorbike. Chocolate teapot.

Just popped my glasses back in their case. 😎

I don’t disagree, plenty more game time for Garnacho who is apparently a huge liability defensively and still getting better numbers than defensive powerhouse Pedro Neto. I just find the narrative very funny

Ahh yes, the classic I don’t like stats because they disprove your opinion. I’ve posted videos above of Neto lazily tracking back and consistently killing attacks. Less out put on the left and less defensive work. May as well play a Jack Russell and let him run head don to the corner flag to get tackled.

Nah pal.

I just know the limitations of statistics and how flawed they are without context.

Really hate the view that you pick your winger based on their defensive ability. With that logic Hazard or Robben would’ve never seen game time for us and Victor Moses would be a club icon.

However to summarise our current wing situation

Garnacho is bad, Pedro Neto is atrociously bad & Jamie Jermaine Bynoe Gittens isn’t even worth discussing.
