He has one goal against a remotely decent side. This is why using stats to defend an already very weak argument is like using a healthy salad to feed Eden Hazard in the summer break.

They both have a contribution against Sunderland, the rest of them are relegation fodder. Neither are good enough, however only one is being lauded as POTS laughably.

Only really Caciedo is in that conversation. James might be too if he had been played at right back more often. Now if we are talking 'Worst Value for Money Since AOL and Time Warner Merged' of the season there are a number in that conversation Neto isn't one of them but, based on performances to date, Garnacho is

It dilutes your argument a little, but it broadly still stands !You hit the nail on the head when you said that neither is good enough (for a team with aspirations to win the PL)
December 23, 2025Dec 23 If the argument is look at who the goals and assists came against... then perhaps that needs to be applied to those who have not scored against those sides? Like it or not, Neto is one of the most effective players we currently have most likely to do something for us in a game and if his goals put points on the board, then brilliant. We usually struggle to beat those lowly positioned sides so glad we have a flat track bully/ yorkshire terrier tearing it up against them who DID put the ball away or we'd be flirting with relegation sides.
December 23, 2025Dec 23 No problem with Neto on left wing, but if he's being played at right wing ahead of Palmer/Estevao then that is a problem in my book as you are denying our best attacking players their optimal position in the starting XI. The directors are basically at fault for stockpiling players who all play in the same positions rather than building a properly balanced squad at the right level to compete now (not in 5 years time) for the PL title.

Maybe an argument to be made for Burnley.

Chelsea player scores goals, its just youre not a fan of his, neither am I but comparing him to other premier league footballers, he's up there on output terms, you just dont want to give him credit, he is one of our most "potent" attacking threats and you clearly want others to do better... Out of interest who is doing better than Neto in our squad that you'd like to play? Usually the second goal kills off a game, but not when Neto scores it. Cool. Have a good xmas, and enjoy debating with others next year.

I just find the parallel between them interesting when they’re both having the exact same season.

Garnacho was great against Wolves, well second half. His first half was poor. He was good against Qarabag when he came on and scored against Sunderland but would not say was great. Cardiff obviously, yes he had a good game coming on. Neto was one of our best players against Forest, West Ham, Benfica. Had a good game against Burnley too. There is a reason why, out of the wingers, Neto is the one that usually stays on the longest. Neto has been heads and shoulders above Garnacho. The stats don't lie.
