Jadon Sancho

I’m struggling to recall moments where he even had the chance to shoot that wouldn’t have just been a random hopefully shot. Unless that’s what Enzo wants.

He’s had numerous chances when he gets in the box but just side foots it, instead of putting his foot through.

No way you can convince me this guy is a winger. I don’t know what he is.

He's a ball carrier. Same as Grealish or Willian. Great if a team has players scoring and getting in the box, sh*te if we couldn't hit a barn door like Jackson, Neto and Palmer on current form.

Would 100% take Grealish over Sancho. Think Grealish will look to leave City as he needs more game time at this stage of his career and I would sign him in a heartbeat but I know he doesn't fit our owners criteria, so will end up somewhere else.

Sancho is head and shoulders better than Grealish.

Alcohol has took over Grealish and he's going down the Gazza route.

Grealish & Willian were never this tame shot wise. Willian averaged over 1.5 shots per game while he was here. Sancho has averaged around 0.8 shots per game in his PL (Utd & Chelsea). You can’t have a ball carrier in your final third playing positional football.

While I agree Sancho is not as bad as being made out, I think that's way too extreme of a viewpoint.

Willian's output was pathetic. 4 goals and 2 assists in his first season with us. 2 goals and 3 assists in 36 PL games in his second season in a league winning side. Sancho has 2 goals and 5 assists in less minutes than Willian's first season without a prime Mourinho managing him.

Be upset at our manager putting square pegs in round holes once again.

What's controversial about it? Grealish has 2 goal contributions in 1500 minutes this season. He managed 6 contributions in an entire season last year.

Sancho has 9 in 1700 minutes.

If we had Grealish on the wings our fans would be having protests outside The Bridge.

If there’s one topic on this whole forum that baffles me it’s the Sancho hate.

He’s going to cost 25M which in the current climate is essentially a free transfer.

His technical ability and football IQ is top draw. His limitation is his straight line speed and the system we are playing him in.

Of what we call the Starting XI there are at least 5 players (Sanchez/Jorgensen, Colwill, Cucurella, Neto/Madueke, Jackson)worse than him and 2 (Enzo, Fofana) on his level (To clarify James, Caiceido & Palmer are the level above)

He isn’t the problem and the over exaggeration of his shortcomings is a system issue not a player issue.

If Mudryk hadn’t been drugged by the Ukrainian Dr then I believe the switch between him (Pace against a high line/slow RB) vs Sancho (Technical nouse & Intricate play) on that left would’ve made us a seriously different team with an actual option.

It isn’t though, and I can imagine the sporting directors are thinking the same. Let’s start with both Joao Felix and Sancho weren’t signed for footballing reasons, they were lazy punts by the SDs trying to be too clever. They have seen Sancho’s value gone from €80m to £25m, and reckon if they can get a tune out of him they will have an undervalued asset that has appreciated on our books. It just hasn’t worked out with both players

The problem with saying £25m is a free player is the player will actually be worth £14m, so we are technically overpaying. Now how many £25m players are on £150k/w, which in assume will be his say if he agrees to a move. Presently he is not worth £25m in the market, and there are only a handful of clubs on the planet that will pay those kind of wages. More than half of them won’t be interested in his services.

Sidebar, Weren’t fans convinced we would easily sell Sterling & Chilwell in the market. How has that worked out?

PS.. comparing Madueke to Sancho is wild. I don’t understand why a section of the fan base hate him. Madueke has done more in the PL than Sancho has ever done, he is another one like Felix living on that one season he had when he was 18yrs.

I think both Grealish and Sancho are playing under the wrong managers and that has impacted their game.

Grealish is a player who needs to play week in, week out, not be treated the way he has been by Pep. As I say, I would take him over Sancho as he has more about him and when in form, far more consistent that Sancho, who after a fairly bright start with ourselves, now looks pretty average - but having Maresca as coach isn't helping.

We've just watched Palace buy Nketiah for 30M and you think we'd struggle to shift Sancho for 20M after a year? This isn't like Felix where he's double the price and half the player.

Sterling is on 350k a week and Chilwell 250k a week. Once again, not the same. The players are clearly in the driving seat with contract like that, contracts we no longer offer.

£25m and £150k pw on this waster? No thanks - not when we've got Tyrique George with Estevao on the way.

Send him back to Ratcliffe, we don't need any more dead wood.

TG looks absolute pony.

Championship level player at best.

We’ve lost a lot better from the academy.

Lightyears behind CHO at that age and he’s only just now becoming a serviceable PL player.

RE Value I think we’d easily recoup the money on Sancho. English + relatively young with some proven elite seasons under his belt. Easy business and he’ll come to us on much reduced wages as per the ‘model’

Felix was only ever a FFP work around so kind of irrelevant.

Madueke is, unfortunately, stupid and if there’s one thing you can’t teach, it’s stupid. Quantity vs Quality in regards his stats. His attitude also stinks the place up.

You've got your numbers mixed up.

Grealish has 2 in 700 mins this season. If you want to include games outside of prem like you did for Sancho then it's 8 in 1500 mins.

Grealish went an entire year without scoring lol I swear some people are too caught up in their agendas on players.

Grealish has hardly played for City for the past year or so. I think the only time he started regularly was in CL last season. It's not as bad as people are making out.

Sorry, you're right. Grealish has a G/A every 348 minutes for City this season in the league.

In comparison to Sancho with his G/A every 204 minutes in the league.

The point remains.

I don't know why it's so baffling, he's not very good. He's always looked sh*t in the Premier League, and doesn't look like a winger at all. The only thing he has is decent touch play, everything else is mediocre, and his football IQ is not great at all. If it was higher, then he would find a way to make it work, but he can't. I'm also not a fan of his off field behaviour at times, he loves a bit of social media drama.

Also, I don't know why the fee keeps getting brought up, it's irrelevant. He's a regular starter for a team looking to finish in the top 4. We need better performances out of him, more goals, more assists, and he needs to be more involved.

More output than Willian and Grealish. One was a mainstay in our successful era the other a treble winner. Yet output is your issue.

I always used to complain about Willian's output and often used to say that our attackers were too reliant on Hazard. But Willian was master ball carrier and would take out an entire midfield with his pace, ball control and dribbling. When an opposition attack broke down, there was nobody else you wanted to pick up the ball because he was so good and taking us from defence to attack in an instant. Sancho is nowhere near the same level.

Sancho is more progressive with the ball.
