Jadon Sancho

The fact Ornstein feels the need to report the figure gives me the impression we arent going to sign him. Yet another disastrous move from the boys pretending to be sporting directors.

On the funny side, United are going to be livid. Thats both Sancho & Antony coming back in the summer with a combined £450kpw to their wage bill.

McTominay is not one of the top players in Italy, he's doing what he did at United for the most part, but playing in a much slower league with defending and goalkeeping thats even worse than ours at times. He picks up the odd goal here and there, but he doesn't control games or anything like that.

Loftus-Cheek wouldn't walk into our midfield because the pace of the league was too much for him. He prefers a slower tempo. Before his injury this season with Milan, he wasn't having the best of seasons either.

Wan Bissaka is average. He will have his moments, but he's a mid table player. It's not like he has greatly improved things for West Ham seeing as they sit 16th in the league.

As for Rashford playing in the Champions League, I don't see why that means anything. He's just lucky somebody is giving him a second chance. It's Ascensio that is impressing the most out of the two, by a long distance.

Highest rated player on Whoscored for the team second in the league, i'd say he's one of the best. He's running rings around players most weeks.

RLC is better than Enzo Fernandez.

Wan Bissaka has been brilliant since his move, a stand out in the team.

Asensio has 0 premier league goals without Rashford's assists.

Imo spending money on teenager is not a bad plan if you look at it from financial pov.

The chance you can recoup their value or get more is so much higher compare to signing a more established player. Furthermore, you also pay lesser salary which is good for your finance.

Also win f**k all

We spent 90m on KDH AND Felix for no reason.

Trust me, we are going to be paying the 25m for Sancho. Don't get your hopes up.

Put his abysmal performances aside; come Summer 2015 he will have one year left on his contract, and a £14m book value. The £25m fee isn’t even the bargain it was cracked up as. Utd are the only winners here.

Obligations to Buy are all very well if you are the club moving the player out, but if you are the club bringing the player in, then surely a loan fee and an option to buy is a much less risky scenario, as well as much better optics if the loan doesn't work out (as here with Sancho) ?

I would keep him on the basis that although he has not had much output with G/A in past few months, he shown early season form which was encouraging and a lot of our players in the new year including Palmer have looked below their best. I am not expecting Sancho to score and assist bucket loads but he has shown glimpses of what he can do and with Mudryk situation uncertain and fact that he still has re-sale value, I would say keep him on. In a scenario where he stays and he has not kicked, on we still would be able to get decent money from him.

Mate. They bought Felix when we didn’t need him only to try and sell him 4 months later because we didn’t need him.

It’s clear they don’t know what they’re doing.

Agree . Smells of politics .. each of the director buying players to out do the other.. why the fck do we have two of them in the first place ??

This is what does my head in. Even if we agree that the board does not care about the football side of things and only cares about player trading, this makes no sense whatsoever.

If I tell my boss that I need to spent company money on something and then say a few months later that the company didn't need to spend that money at all, and that recouping that money is highly unlikely, I'd have some serious explaining to do.

How are the SDs getting away with it?

Preaching to the converted Sconnie ... LOL

We’d offload him to the Bundesliga for a profit if it’s only a 25M buy option. It’s a no brainer.

I’d still happily keep him though as I’ve said before, there’s a player there.

I'm not so sure about that TBB

25M would make him more expensive than all but five of the top Bundesliga transfers in 24/25.

You can exclude Bayern (the top two of those five) as well, as they already have much better wingers than Sancho, even as back ups.

Not if you're signing those young players for obscene amounts of money to begin with, which is exactly what we have done.

If £5m is all it is, then we should take that penalty fee.

At the same time though, it would mean clubs will no longer trust the owners going forward if we try and make a similar loan deal.

Either way, it's yet another Winstanley and Stewart f**k up, amongst a sea of f**k ups.

Shouldn’t be doing these obligation to buy deals anyway, so if clubs don’t trust us with it in future, it’s probably for the best.

Proper tinpot small club stuff.

I agree it will be easier if they are cheaper.

But let's say both player cost 40m,it is easy to argue that the chance you can keep/increase the value of 19 year old is higher than increasing/keep the value of 26 years old plus like I said you probably will pay far less salary for the 19 years old.

This. Only PL, RM, Bayern n PSG (and the Saudi) has money.

I have a sneaky feeling the club is trying to pull a fast one on him, and that is why there are constant leaks to the press about how happy they are with his performances. Club keeps saying wages aren’t a problem, but they tried this same gimmick with Osimhen last summer. IMO They intend to buy him and sell him the next summer when Quenda comes in.

There is just one small problem; he is currently getting his full £300k/w, we are subsidising half of it. We can offer him a contract in the summer, capped at the £150k/w max. Sancho can choose to reject this, go back to Utd for his last contract year, and either stay or get loaned out again keeping his £300k/w. Summer 2026 he becomes a free agent, at 26 able to negotiate his last big contract, and keep a fat sign on bonus. This from his perspective would be the smart move.

If the reported numbers are true, we have the ability to do the funniest thing; buy Sancho and immediately sell him to Dortmund at a huge (FFP) profit. That would bank an instant 20m on the books for spending this window.

Similar to what Real Madrid did to Juve when they sold Morata to Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca for the second time this season has urged Jadon Sancho to start shooting more.

No way you can convince me this guy is a winger. I don’t know what he is.

I’m struggling to recall moments where he even had the chance to shoot that wouldn’t have just been a random hopefully shot. Unless that’s what Enzo wants.
