I read the "that's already happened" as meaning George becoming our best winger rather than the club being finished.

On this forum an assist seems to be all it takes to overrate players these days.

We are talking about a winger here not a CB or CM. Duff was actually pretty decent; had 14 goals & 20 assists in 81 PL appearances (5461 mins). That is a G/A every 160mins. Sancho currently is on 2 goals and 4 assists in 1275 mins. That is a G/A every 212mins. That is a contribution every 2+ games, output wise he is not top 60 in the PL. Ait Nouri a LB at 17th place Wolves has more output than him. Just a pointless move.

Everyone complains about Jackson not being good enough, everyone complains about how our wingers are hugging the touch line and expected to beat 2 players with no fullback support and yet we are still blaming them for low outputs.

Wages wise, we don’t know what the negotiations resulted in for this buy option. It was well published he was on between 250-350k at United, and we know how they operate, at the time he was ‘supposed’ to be their main man. Therefore, I’m of the belief he’ll become one of the joint highest earners once signed, so small fee or not, that’s simply not acceptable for his output.

We are currently covering £100 or £150K a week (depending on the source) of his £250K per week United contract. I’d imagine his new wage here wouldn’t top £150kpw.

Yep. I don't think the figure has been disclosed but he has agreed to a "substantial" pay cut.

I watched our 2004-05 season highlights again and it was mind-blowing to see how effective our wing attacks were. 'Switching' wings was overstated; Duff and Robben used to double team fullbacks out wide, one would dribble on the outside and the other would sit in the channel acting as a number 10. By comparison, we have one winger taking on both fullback and opposing winger, and Palmer somewhere between no. 6 and no. 8. Maresca's system is somehow worse than 'boring boring Chelsea'.

Those two games were against Southampton & Leicester right? Had a look and he had 5 key passes in both games, created 1 big chance, had zero shots on target and won a pen. xG of 0.06 and xA of 0.51 in both games. Sorry but those numbers are just piss poor. We are in March and he has 2 league goals, and 4 assists. Those numbers are just not good enough.

1 goal and 3 assists from 5 games on the right. Apparently we're not allowed to acknowledge a player is better in certain positions though :(

I have no idea stats wise but just by watching the game you can see he is clearly more involved and able to actually cut in when playing on the right. Maybe cause he doesn't have Cucu getting in his way and taking space away.

Does not make sense to "to pay a significant penalty " to not complete this deal for 25mill, at least from a financial point, which is how we are focused.

Pay United a fee to take him back and get nothing, or take a 5mill a year hit and sell him for at least on the books profits in a year or two.

Or maybe we Veiga him, get good loan fees and make an actual profit when selling.

Has been reported we have not pre agreed terms with Sancho, and that the current loan deal sees us pay 50% of his wages, between 162.5k and 175k a week, as Sancho is reported to be on either 325k or 350k at united.

Fitting him in our wage structure might be difficult.

Reported by who? I find this bizarre and not quite sure how its possible.

It was reported as a obligation. In every obligation within a loan you always agree fee and wages beforehand. Otherwise you just call it a loan with an option to buy.
