Any news on the traveling squad yet?

No, but I think they set off yesterday and should be there just in time for kick off.

Think we need to risk it here and save everyone at home. Far too big of a match Sunday.

Hopefully Felix plays a blinder.

Jorgensen

Acheampong Disasi Tosin Samuels-Smith

Veiga KDH

George  Felix   Mudryk

Nkunku

Playing Nkunku is a big risk in such conditions.

Isn't their an AfCoN in January? Don't need both him and Jackson missing.

Why on earth are UEFA sanctioning a game in this location at this time of year? The pitch will be frozen solid and more slippery than an eels foreskin. Matches elsewhere get canceled at those temperatures. (-8 is forecast for the match, -11 overnight).Injuries are bound to happen.

All I can imagine is that  Borat blackmailed them into it. " Yeźz, this photo with the 🐐 not look so good eh?"

I think Astana stadium have a roof that closes, surely they will do that in freezing conditions like this week?

But the pitch is artificial turf. I remember the last time we played on an artificial pitch, RLC 😢

Apparently their stadium is closed for refurbishment and the game is being played at Almaty stadium. There is no roof at this stadium but the pitch is heated. The pitch is surrounded by an athletics track.

"Nyezz, we have also photo of Mr UEFA with the Llama no!"

Nice words from Disasi here as quoted by BBC:

Disasi, who will start for Enzo Maresca's side against Astana on Thursday, also had this message for the fans travelling to Kazakhstan amid potential -11 degrees Celsius temperatures,

"We appreciate this because it's a long old flight and the temperature is crazy," he said. "Again, they show the love they have for us and as a player it's a pleasure to feel this. Just thank you.

"We all know the conditions of these games. We just have to be ready, put two pairs of gloves on and compete in the game because we have to fight and keep our first place."

They could get injured crossing the street. But they are a lot more likely to get injured playing 1) in a game after they've just flown for 11 hours (remember we don't play our South Americans after an international break) and 2) in weather conditions colder than you'd see in any game in england.

Just seems like overkill to me to hold back Disasi, Mudryk etc because they might but probably won’t be needed against Brentford/Everton and because they might but probably won’t get injured in Astana.

Even if they do get injured, it’ll require an injury or suspension to a more regular player before their absence is missed.  In my opinion it’s more likely to be harmful to the squad  that you piss off the fringe players by giving them 0 or very few minutes over the next couple weeks.

17 player squad that is travelling apparently.

Staring XI something like this perhaps ?

Yeah hearing those are the only senior players that have travelled. Felix and Madueke apparently staying behind.

Great to hear that.

Jorgensen
Acheampong Disasi Tosin Samuels-Smith
Veiga KDH
George Carney Mudryk
Nkunku

Do you have the 17 man squad @Sexyfootballor @Sconnie Blue?

Wonder how many of the 6 subs will be keepers?

It's still unclear as to who of the senior players travelled, but I am seeing this below.

Jorgensen, Bergstrom, (2)

Disasi, Acheampong, Tosin, Veiga (4)

KDH, Carney, George, Guiu, Mudryk,  (5)

Ampah, McMahon, Wilson, Olise, Murray-Campbell, Dyer, Rak-Sakyi, Mhueka (8)

Beeb:

Chelsea have added youngsters Josh Acheampong, Ato Ampah, Harrison McMahon, Kaiden Wilson, Richard Olise (brother of Michael), and Harrison Murray-Campbell to their Conference League squad to play Astana in Kazakhstan.

Tyrique George, Kiano Dyer, Sam Rak-Sakyi and Shim Mheuka were already included.

It is part of an effort from Chelsea to manage their workload.

Enzo Maresca's squad face an eight-hour flight, and will play Thursday's tie in a time zone that is five hours ahead and at temperatures that are forecasted to be as low as minus 11.

19 person squad then not 17, no Nkunku.

So probably:

Jorgensen

Acheampong

Disasi

Tosin

Veiga

KDH

Rak-Sakyi (think he is a midfielder)

George

Carney

Mudryk

Guiu

Mudryk not travelled apparently. Saw Harvey Vale has apparently travelled, would be good for him to get a start.

You would think, of all our players needing minutes and most suitable to a frozen country, it would be Mudryk.

Is Nkunku travelling ?

I'd be very surprised if he is .... I would have thought it more likely to have Carney at #10 and one of the youth players alongside KDH

Yeah it would been a very bizarre choice to risk him, with his injury history, in such conditions.

Maybe Mudryk is not over being sick, maybe that is why he missed out?

Having said that RIP information is different to what Sconnie put above so might just be nobody but Maresca and the players know exactly who is going and who is not yet.
