I like Delap’s presence. Whilst he’s not exactly done much, he’s done quite a lot just being there. You can say the same for Jackson sometimes, but Delap hasn’t done anything stupid, and that you can never say for Jackson.

"Can’t see that (I’m in US). I think here is exclusively DAZN"

Disagree. He's a constant yellow card waiting to happen.

Well, thanks for that Liam. Very Jacksonesque.

I think you spoke too soon. He's just got a stupid and needless yellow and now misses the semi if we get there.

Excellent half. Centre backs look assured, Santos elegant, Cucu being Cucu, Enzo invokved and Cole is back.

In fairness to Maresca we look well-drilled defensively.

I'm glad I deceided to watch this game.

Jury out on Delap atm, love his attitude but he's not really a goal threat this CWC

Benefit of the doubt, I think he does have potential, but a season as second fiddle would ideally be best for him. But do we have someone good enough to be first fiddle? It certainly isn’t Jackson. Pedro? Hmm. Can we afford to sign anyone else after this UEFA fine thing?

theyve got to him, id take him off rather than risk a second yellow dont fancy playing this lot with 10 men. i wonder who will play in the semi if we get there?

The option is Jackson though, i imagine it'd take these CB's 2 minutes to get in his head. Pick your poison.

I am not sure that I totally agree. Costa put himself about but he could walk the walk. Delap needs to concentrate more on his touch and interaction with those around him and less time needlessly just pushing people off the ball.

I do think he'll be fine and bullying is okay, providing you come out with the ball and it's all legal. These Palmeras defenders will just play him all game.

I would love to see him score a goal through strength, running with the ball and having power, a la Costa. Then their defenders will truly struggle to handle him.

All in all a very good first half. They aren’t up to much save for Estevao and the lad on the left.

I’d be much happier if we’d got a second but I think this will be a comfortable win.

Palmer looks like he’s going to score again. They have absolutely no idea how to stop him.

100%, its very early days for him and hard to tell anyones level against unknown opponents. Need to see him over the course of a season.

Sadly i don't think we have the leading striker and doubt we'll ever sign one again.

One of my biggest criticisms of Delap before we signed him was that I thought he was pretty much just a bruiser, he's not exactly doing much to prove me wrong. He's not playing for a club constantly fighting anymore, he needs to have more to his game than trying to get under defenders skin.

Point well made Scott. Let's hope he learns as he does have a lot of qualities.

The first 35 minutes was really good, played with a lot of pace. I'm not sure if that was because Maresca has instructed them to play that way, or because Palmeiras has been a bit naive in allowing us so much space. The last 10 minutes weren't so great though, we just started to struggle to get out of defence and get the ball into the attacking positions.
