While you might argue they are not worth the money, they wasn't paid for nothing. With the loanees do we know how much of the wages were covered by the clubs loaning them and the cost of their loan fee? Assuming not much in the case of Sterling and Chilwell, but some of the others could have been fully covered and with a loan fee on top could actually mean we made profit for the year! I know Charney Chukwuemekas wages were supposedly paid in full by Dortmund on top of a small loan fee.
August 26, 2025Aug 26 Seems we overplayed our hands and no one else is moving on permanent deals. It’s the Tyrique George’s that will be sold to any one waving cash I feel for. In his case there are clubs like Villa with no wingers where he could be loaned to and get solid minutes with better thinking, but we are too focused on the now. We now have the bomb squad from last season who will all get loaned again, coupled with the ones from this season. Next season’s preseason should be fun. I don’t know why the club thinks anyone will pay £20m for Sterling, just let him go for free and write off the loses. The club also seem to think because Newcastle were willing to pay €80m for Sesko, the same fee should apply to Jackson. Well the first one wasn’t for sale, and Leipzig can name their price. In Jackson’s case, he will be back next season joining the new improved and bulked up bomb squad. There is zero incentive for him to leave with a £100k/w+ contract with 6yrs to run.

He has started 5 league games and scored 1 goal, but hey he gets to share a locker room with his idol Neymar.
August 26, 2025Aug 26 This is groundbreaking news. How could we have pieced this together without the assistance of muppets like this stating what has been fking obvious from the get go.Fck me, everyone lauds this Ornstein fella as some great transfer guru. How do i get into this as a job. These blokes do absolutely fck all for a living. Don't these clowns have the audacity to call themselves journalists? Haha
August 26, 2025Aug 26 Looking at who is left hanging around : Alfie Gilchrist - surely some club will come in for him on a permanent deal ?Chilwell - no-one is going to buy him. Loans until his contract expires with us continuing to pick up a minimum of half his wagesSterling - ditto. Think we would have to pay him at least £20m to leave.Disasi - I think we can find someone to buy him permanently if we aren't too greedy. Breaking even on his current book value should be possible.D.Fofana - dittoKellyman ... LOL. What on earth is happening with this guy ? He no longer shows in the first team section on the web site at any rate !Then we have the first team squad players that are "available"Nkunku - no club seems to be prepared to take the plunge on him. Probably three reasons (1) concern over the impact his injury has had on his performance level (2) High wages (3) we are probably asking for too high a feeJackson - ditto, but probably two factors (1) we are asking for too high a fee (2) too much noise on social media and forums about his weak points likely putting teams off. I think he will go as clubs get desperate at as the window runs down. and we get desperate to sell for UEFA PSR purposes. George - I think we can loan or sell him. Has shown sufficient promise for some club to take a punt. Finally, what the f**k is going on with Mudryk LOL. Unbelievable that it is taking so long for the details of his ban to be decided, or made public.

Unbelievable that it is taking so long for the details of his ban to be decided, or made public.Pure speculation here, but I think the club has received advice to proceed slowly and quietly.Changes to FIFAs practice after it lost the Diarra case mean that transfer fees will likely no longer be considered as part of the player's value by CAS, when calculating compensation. This would limit the absolute maximum value of any compensation claim to the value of Mudryk's wages, and a court is likely to reduce that significantly. Also, FIFA can no longer sanction clubs who acquire a player who broke their contract, meaning we couldn't put a caveat on Mudryk like we did with Juventus and Livorno over Mutu. It means Mudryk would be free to play for other clubs while we spend half a decade in court chasing a paltry sum.

August 27, 2025Aug 27 In terms of these people in the know on transfers I find it weird how people talk about them/react to them. Fabrizio Romano and Ornstein who are the most reputable insight people...First of all it is amazing to me they would know fine details of these deals weeks before. That means agents and representatives leak information of deals because they gain something of it. Not sure what. I would believe deals like these should be heavily protected by NDA's and other protective mechanisms. In the real world way smaller investments are protected by dealing parties. I guess this is another wild west aspect of European football. I enjoy reading rumours as the next guy but it still baffles me the whole ordeal. Others talk about them as some sort of oracles which is idiotic as well. But still why get so angry about them. For some reason it is their livelihood. Tells more about the human race if anything I guess.
