O'Reilly not bad . . .but generally this is a dull game. Panama are playing 5 across the back - but still - England are clumsy with poor crosses and they seem to have forgotten how to play offside.

England are so predictably sh*t. Every tournament, same sh*t. Doesn't matter who coaches them, there is something mentally wrong with English footballers. I don't know if it's how they are coached from youth level, but there is just something that completely blocks them when they play for England. I have never seen another countries players just look so frightened when they play for their country.

I never thought Ghana did a job on us, we just didn't do anything that would break a team like that down. Spain played against a Cape Verde that defended for their lives, but Spain created a ton of chances. Every England player just settles on the basics when they put an England shirt on. There is never any individualism, they haven't got the balls for it. They play safe, cowardly football.

And Kane is a good player and our record goal scorer (in the modern era)

It’s not really a fair comparison given quality, but the speed and technical ability of France across Olise, Mbappe and Dembele makes the English forwards look like a championship line. No cohesion whatsoever.

I swear this is exactly what we watched in the back half of Tuchel tenure.

Could have taken Palmer Foden and Rio all capable of opening up a defence but no sh*t like Henderson is desperately needed

The problem when so much of your threat comes from one player. Aggressively marking him and and their other defenders are able to comfortably keep up with Saka and Rashford and force their runs into harmless areas In these scenarios you need your non strikers to cause chaos; muscle the way through, keep going and force a risky tackle or simply do some fancy footwork and make a defender commit himself.

Rashford being forced out to the side only makes him a danger to the side netting (assuming he doesn't just pass it backwards). The only threat England are showing is when Kane loses his man

This one has me too tense. Admittedly we got tickets to knockout round in Atlanta for Wednesday, which will be England if they win. Parents land Monday, would love to surprise them. Please England, please do this!
