All valid, I'll wait until a few more weeks down the line and give him the benefit of the doubt, we need this midfield situation sorted before the end of the window for sure otherwise we can expect more of these types of games.

As business cases go I don't think Alonso could have set it out any better. Clearly Lavia and James need a stronger presence alongside them, the rubbish Gusto doesn't belong here, and Caicedo re-injured in 12 minutes. He must be given the tools in these last two days. Personally I'd still like another grown up CB as well as I am still not totally convinced by Colwill tbh

Not sure what’s going on at the back. That was horrendous. We were lucky to only concede 3. Looks like we’re also going to need to spend the Fernandez money on a couple of midfielders.

Three points in the bag, but it’s a pity the Arsenal game is coming so soon.

Personally, I thought the defenders themselves played very well, bar Colwill who looked a bit off the pace at times today.

The midfield was the problem for me. They gave no real cover for the defence when Brighton were coming forwards.

That was a good watch.

I like to point out negatives so ill raise my concern that I hope we address in the future.

25% possession......now I hated having 80% possession and doing nothing with it but if our possession stats are going to be this low, I want to see more structure and solidarity when defending. We look like we can concede so easily and are at the mercy of so many dangerous attacking chances.

I think Colwill is looking dodgy at the moment. I know the lad's been out a long time but he needs to improve, and fast.

Always thought we needed to buy another quality CB in addition to Lacroix, and still feel that way after watching our struggles at the back in the first two games.

Thank f**k the guy who would have scored the equalizer last year was sitting on our bench lol

I feared a Danny Welbeck equaliser

Yep, move Hato there. No passengers. If u ain’t pulling ur wait f**k right off till you are.

Match highlights:

That defending as a team after the first 3 goals.... That last goal pi$$es me off, shockingly bad, poor attention.

Grateful it did not matter though. Aside from our traditional rivals, Leeds, Arsenal, Spurs, beating Brighton is one of the most enjoyable.

As things stand our back 3 vs Arsenal might be best to be Acheampong, Lacroix and Hato.
