The Shed End Mummy (she is going to love me for that ) is going to the Barnsley game tomorrow thanks to the tickets Just got for her.

Without going into Jane's personal details (not my place) I think most of us know that Jane going to the game is a bit more challenging than the rest of us going to a game and so I'd like to say I hope she has a great day out and, despite the fact that a draw would mean the Wigan game would be moved back to the piss up day, I hope she sees Chelsea hammer Barnsley.

Now you're all making me feel sentimental

"Mummy" - is that yummy mummy? Probably feel more like granny if the truth be told. But I'll get you for that Loz - quite apart from the fact that I'm NOT the oldest female poster AND some of the male posters are even older than me. I mean take Bluebeard - can you imagine me having given birth to BB? He's months older than me and I've never seen myself as a member of the "old gits" club.

I am really excited about tomorrow. I feel exactly like the first time I went to the Bridge without my Dad and Uncle. I was 13, it was 1970 and I was all kitted out in my Levis, Ben Sherman and DMs. I got to the tube station, carefully avoiding the old man, who was going to the same match anyway, and ran into the loo and put on some make up. I was the only girl in the gang I used to go with and amazingly none of the boys objected to my being with them. I wasn't a tom boy, (nor a slapper) I didn't fight, (unless I absolutely couldn't avoid it) but accepted that they did and we went together until I started working overseas, many years later. They just accepted my passion for the club, even though I was "only a girl".

Selfishly, (I know it cocks up your meet up) I really hope we absolutely hammer them tomorrow, as I've heard enough "norvern" ***** going on about "Chelski," in the last few days, to last me a lifetime. (Gem, there's no danger of me overcoming my "Tourrettes" anytime soon.)

I have to have 12 hours sleep, so I'll be off to bed fairly soon as even a 5:30 pm kick off doesn't guarantee I'll get all my zeds in. I'm just praying I'll be able to keep awake long enough to get through the evening. Just the journey and having to sit on those awful seats means I'll have to take enough medication to send the little sniffer dogs on a frenzy.

So thank you all for your good wishes, and I'll let you know how it went on Sunday (I don't do mornings) afternoon.

Jane i think you are the most corrageous poster on here and a few JCL's could learn a thing about your devotion to the club. I truly hope that the Chelsea stuff the tykes for you...i am sure the CSR piss up can handle having a few pints together without a game if it means you get to see a truly great game.
