So disappointed with Anelka tonight it's unreal. He worked hard but he kept coming deep for no real reason and just didn't look up for it or atall confident.

Was determind to give it to Joe Cole but after the fourth goal from Lamps I just couldn't. Well played both of them though

Hopefully by that time we will have weeded out all the glory hunting scum that we have among us and the true fans can savour the sucess of the club that we turely love.

You're joking right? He might not have played his best against Barnsley but come on, Essien is top class. Wasn't he the fans' player of the year last year? Someone said on another thread that some people seem to have unrealistic expectations and I half agree. I know Essien sleeps for 14 hours a day but you can't expect him to put in a blinding performance every game. I agree, but he did set high standards last season, thats why he won player of the year. But this season he hasn't reached those standards and I have been hugely disappointed by him. I actualy can't remember any blinding performances from him this season to be honest but weither I think he should go I'm not too sure. I don't think Nibs meant he wanted Essien to go but that he wouldn't be totally devastated by him leaving and I feel the same. Last season he was excellant and he hasn't become a bad player but I feel last season we couldn't go without him whereas this season we certainly could and I sometimes feel that he is selected because of reputation and his form last season more than for his form this season. A few times I have seen him in the starting line up and thought the his place in the team would be better given to someone else. Last season I would never of thought I would say this but, I like the guy and think he is potentially a fantastic player and I would rather he stayed but due to his performances this season I agree with Nibs, I wouldn't be gutted to see him leave.

Haha I like the way you counted us staying in the FA Cup a few hours more than Man Utd as a positive, really scraping the bottom of the barrel there are you not?

I say sack him NOW and let a new manager get settled in time for next season, simple as that. People will say he still has a chance to win the Champions League and the Premiership but if he can't win the FA Cup and the Carling Cup what makes people think he can deliver the important ones? Especialy when he has already PROVED he can't hack it in big games. New manager in, give him the last few months of the season to assess the squad and let him decide what needs changeing and get the team settled by the start of next season. The most important thing for the club right now is to move forward, we cannot afford to move back after all the progress we have made in recent years. Grant certainly isn't moving us forward so therefore we are moving back so something HAS to be done.

Birmingham at home got me excited about him now I can't stand the guy, as everyone has said his attitude stinks, he hasn't shown many(if any) good qualitys and to be honest everytime he plays it's like playing with ten men, he offers absolutly nothing to the team, in fact I would rather play with ten men, his ball retention is that bad.

In the last three league games at White Hart Lane we have lost 4 points, in recent times it has been tough going there.

I want Arsenal. A chance to for Grant to prove he is good enough for the Champions League and the Premier League in one. If we beat Arsenal then it shows we have what it takes to beat the big teams in europe and it also gives everyone a moral boost for the Premiership. When is the draw for the next round ?

I voted Ashley Cole, purely because I could not decide between Ballack, Lampard and Makelele so I decided to go for my 4th MOM Ashley Cole was solid and never stop running that wing.

I didn't think the game against Arsenal was in question Thought it was Tottenham he would miss if it was 'frivelous'? Think there is a good chance of sucess becuase I think Grant said the Referee claimed Lampard pushed him on the face, when clearly, he didn't touch Boa Morte's face.

The club have decided to appeal Frank's red card against West Ham, Shocker eh? I hope the appeal goes through(as it should do) as the games he is scheduled to miss are Barnsley, Derby and Sunderland, I don't see us notwinning them without Frank but I believe that these games would be perfect for picking a settled team and sticking to it so that after (hopefully) three wins confidence will be high leading into the buisness end of the season.

Joe Cole given pretty much a free role to run at defenders and seek the ball. Frank making his trade mark runs and Ballack playing the same game hes been playing recently. Anelka up alongside Drogba but given the freedom to drift out left when he wants.

I remember a quote from the club a few seasons ago when our facilites were upgraded and we were employing the best staff around that the aim was to have a youth player moving into the first team set up every season. I agree with you though, one every few season would be great.
