I think the relationship broke after the City game(after the first leg against Barca), he and the players were never on the same page after that.
As for sulking Jose showed his frustration by getting angry at the players, Conte was just not shy about calling out the Board who are more to blame than anyone IMO
if u keep missing CL 2 out of three seasons after changing the managers, the problem runs deeper than you think

Bit more spelt out for you than Dark Souls and Bloodborne where a lot of the story was uncovered through reading item descriptions or speaking with NPCs etc.
Theres more moments of speaking to NPCs and them saying “I need you to go here and get this item because...” which is different for FromSoft. Decent story though.

Well from his own perspective he didn't need to stand the board any longer as they didn't share his vision for the club, he was saying that with the current players there is no way to play differently and that he wants new big signings. But the board didn't listen to him, even after he won the league in his first season.
Conte sees himself as a winner and he didn't want to put himself lower than that, once he realised that the club doesn't share his vision and ambition he was never going to stay, and you can't blame him for that.
After all, he did adapt, but Pep and Klopp didn't need to adapt as they just needed their respective clubs to continue backing them for real, one can only do so much adapting once it's really obvious that the club is actually going backwards and falling behind their rivals.

our defense is a joke no matter how bad Sarri is, the way we give up goals is just embarrassing

I’m firmly with Sarri on this one. The players can f*ck off, I hope we salvage top 4 somehow and then have a huge clear out this summer, start afresh.

Arsenal used the same Spurs tactic and literally the same result no plan whatsoever

Again, there is some revisionist history when it comes to Costa. I've written in one of these threads that he was that incredibly hot girl you dated. She was thrilling... and at times she made you absolutely miserable. 
Then as you remember back you think "she was so hot. Why did we break up?"
Because she was always looking at other dudes and she treated you like crap....
Yeah, but she was soooooo hot... lol. 
Diego thrilled us for half a season, and was utter crap as a want away malcontent the other half. 
The biggest part if the revisionist history though, isn't necessarily his on field performance, which I've mentioned it's that "axed by Conte" crap. You didnt bring that up, it's just part of the amnesia people have when remembering Costa's tenure with Chelsea. Conte was hardly to blame for Costa leaving. And that we got 60M for a 30 year old want-away shows he didnt actually hurt our ability to get a fee for him either. 
Anyway... I'm rambling. 
The short is... I dont want Costa back because 
1. He only showed up for half a season each year he was here 
2. He agitated for a move each season he was here (has done the same thing at Atletico already)
3. He's been non productive on the field for 24 months (6 of which he sat out because he's pretty damned unprofessional).
