  1. Ya I wouldn't envy a trip to Russia at all, be nice to dodge some of the Italian teams as well.
  2. On the short term I will always look at the key members of the dynasty of the noughties that won all those championships. I would throw in Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Ballack, Essien, Cech, and Carvalho as people I would all put as legendary in terms of being part of a team that was so successful. I look forward to what the next dynastic element might be. This of course is different then looking at an individual perspective but just as relevant I would say.
  3. I agree but I think this feeling of skepticism comes from the fact that CFC has developed so few young players recently with Sturridge being the only real standout. There's a couple on the cusp and there have always been some who we thought would make it but just never panned out. Here's hopin tho!
  4. I remember looking at the schedule at one point in 2009 thinking that there is no way we should lose any of these matches and of course we ended up dropping points to Citeh, Everton, West Ham, and Birmingham. I think the moral of that story was that football is a sport and anything can happen, that's why we watch, that's why we love it. If we could predict with absolute certainty what was going to happen we'd all be rich! Always hoping for the wins though!
  5. Ya I'd either do a swap with Torres, or pay £10. Be kinda silly to pay anything more for a thirty year old
  6. It certainly sounds like it might be, I think one of the issues last time was that the CPO wished that "Given that Battersea Power Station falls within the three mile radius as originally set out in the recent proposal put by Chelsea FC to Chelsea Pitch Owners, Say No CPO welcome the club's potential interest in purchasing the site, as well as their continued efforts to explore options regarding expansion of Stamford Bridge. "We are, however, disappointed that the club did not take the opportunity of the EGM on October 27 to make their intentions clearer with regard to any potential relocation sites." I also would love to see some potential Battersea stadium sketches for 55k+ stadium, as mentioned it would certainly be a unique building. Could be a positive or a negative though, depending on the final sketches.
  7. I dunno I love watching him run with his pace late in games, it really puzzles the opposition and makes him difficult to control.
  8. Real Estate Opportunities unable to pay the debt on the Battersea Power Station http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2011/12/13/2633217/chelsea-stadium-news-battersea-power-station-to-enter-administration
  9. I would say this can really go two-directions, but that is not my implication. I think it is silly to get hyper-partisan over issues like these, it's really George Bush's "you're with us or against us" mentality. I think there is a lot more at stake here with Torres. The question is can we give him the free reign and opportunities to restore his confidence. What if by giving Torres the game time he needs to seize the opportunity results in more losses. What if in turn those losses result in our missing out on CL qualification? What if the time it takes for Torres to get his groove back takes a couple years, he'll be older and less likely to have the same amount of quality, especially if injuries have taken a turn on him. Does Chelsea have a history of being a place where top strikers regain their form? The problem for me that there are too many what ifs. I think if we are a supposed be challenging for titles we need a CF that we can count on with the utmost of confidence, and that is what we lack right now. If Torres doesn't pan out soon my vote is not to make a fatal determined hope for him. I think AVB has done a decent job in the situation and I trust in him to make the right decisions to keep this club moving forward.
  10. My point exactly What I am saying is not to literally sell Torres and rely solely on Lukaku. But I have as much faith in someone like a Lukaku right now then I do a Torres. Maybe that will change in time, but I really just don't see him miraculously turning his game back, AND I hope I am wrong and he does that. I think that we are going to have to find another centre forward to fill the void while we hope some of our others develop as I'd hate to count on Torres alone.
  11. I hate to agree with ya on the Citeh taking the title and all, but it seems unlikely that they will really falter that much. Baring a crazy second half of the season I agree that its best to make sure of our top four finish.
  12. What we need is someone who can be consistent now, Lukaku seems much more likely then Torres to contribute right now and in the future. We need to sell him and find someone who can score goals reliably for the next 3-4 years, besides Sturridge.
  13. Henry Winter counters: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/8946246/Chelsea-2-Manchester-City-1-match-report.html
  14. Nice cheap (I assume) option, allows us to have that spare body while we wait for the Bruma's and Chalobah's to earn their game time.
  15. Sturridge, he made both goals, gotta commend him for that. Ramires and Mata were also great as well. Drogba deserves a mention for his amazing ball control at the end of the match to kill the clock
  16. This is pretty cut and dry
  17. All in the week when we were the ones to be counted out!
  18. Would rather see him here in Canada and the MLS.
  19. Aren't we rebuilding already? David Luiz, with all his troubles, still has room to grow and if he gains any consistency he will be a star, give that he's terrible one game great another. Mata, Lukaku, Sturridge, all other great young talent. If we can restock our midfield and find a few more young defenders this team is on the cusp of brilliance again! No need to do a full-scale blow-up in my opinion.
  20. Be great to see him stay on for 3-4 more goals, and a CL trophy :P With those goals though, he'd grab his rightful place as Chelsea's fourth all-time scorer I believe, that's where he belongs as one of the Chelsea greats of all-time.
  21. Brazilians are Mediterranean?
  22. I think Citeh being the only club to have scored and conceded 100 goals in a season means that not a hell of a lot has really changed then in 60 years.
  23. Good to have a great group of young forwards but when are we going to improve our most immediate area of need in the midfield?
