  1. From CFCNet: We've had more apologies issued by newspapers in the last two years than I can remember since I started following Chelsea, and that's because they so often print exactly what they want, and apologise later. By the time the apology appears as a one-liner hidden hidden on one of the pages nobody reads, the damage [they so clearly want to do] is done. If it weren't for the club's official website, we'd never see the apologies at all. Wasn't a mate's wife. It was a mate's ex-girlfriend. I don't think for one moment Terry wanted it both ways, it's just a question of whether this is actually anybody's business except the involved and injured parties. If these allegations are true, then for me it's just more proof that, despite some of the commentary here, footballers are no different now than they were forty years ago, and I don't think John Terry is any more a role model than Peter Osgood and George Best, among many others, all of whom were complete tossers at some point.
  2. Against a Sunderland side lacking Cana and Cattemole in midfield, against a meh Watford side, against lowly Preston, and against a Birmingham side that was all over the place defensively. There's a reason why Mourinho, Grant, Hiddink, Scolari, and now Carlo play him in the big games against the big teams. Do you forget his performance against United in the FA Cup final at age 19 no less? Or how about the one against United when Frank was missing? Or how about Juventus when he kept Del Piero in his pocket?
  3. And Tony Adams was a fine example to aspiring alcoholics everywhere.
  4. Good. He's back. And anyone who can't see what he offers, watch the City game. When he came on our midfield became stabilized and we were actually able to maintain possession better.
  5. Other good cult TV series: Sealab 2021 Frisky Dingo The Venture Brothers Home Movies Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Out there but funny) Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law All animated but really funny.
  6. Carlo also wins CLs and has a proven track record.
  7. Holt has been one of the more logical writers. He defended us after that Barca game. Martin Samuel too. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/co...ticle25937.html
  8. Underrated and a great player to boot. He seems to enjoy it here.
  9. SRWare Iron >>>> All. Until they get a Mac version out anyway. Using FF for now. On the subjects of browsers, I know someone who works for Mozilla. We used to run together in high school. Great guy. Chrome has some privacy issues that I'm not exactly comfortable with. Give Iron a shot. It's Chrome but without those privacy problems.
  10. Fine. One, Mikel brings us stability. Remember the City game where the midfield was atrocious? The instant he came into the game we were able to show some composure and string some passes together. I remember against Liverpool in early 2008 our midfield was getting hassled. Mikel came on and was able to hold off Mascherano and Lucas and be able to give us a link between attack and defence. Same thing against West Ham. Two, he's an AM being converted into a DM. That he's doing quite well at 22 is impressive. More so with less games played than Fabregas, Messi, or Rooney. Even better is that it's in one of the best midfields in the game. Three, when we lack players with movement up front and Essien, it's going to be a glaring problem. Having Ballack, Lampard, Malouda, Deco, Belletti, and Mikel in there is going to be a hindrance. It's going to be easy to overrun that midfield when Mikel will get overloaded. People keep complaining about our midfield, when it's obvious we need pace. Mikel isn't the problem, it's him having a bunch of other slow guys around him when our athletic and pacy guys are injured that's the problem. I don't know why people want to drop him, more so if they want Ballack (Good lord that horror show against West Ham says it all) or Essien who has no business being in the holding role because it restricts his ability.
  11. It's posts like these that make me wonder if people are just watching the ball or the game in general.
  12. Stability in midfield. When he came on against City we looked more composed. Of course, our midfield will be sluggish without Essien when it consists of Lampard, Mikel, and Ballack.
  13. Love the man, last year when he scored that winner against Stoke he overtook Franco as my favorite player. When he scored that goal I just remember going apesh*t. But he is an underrated player, as Jose once said "Lamps is Lamps. When he plays well he is best in the game. When he plays bad he is 2nd or 3rd best."
  14. What NOTW is doing is violating some serious ethics in the journalism field. I'll double check with one of my professors, get their opinion on it. Dude this is the same board who labels Shay Given as the greatest keeper in the league and has two idiots who think that Nani was going to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
  15. First leg has 0-0 written all over it. Given Jose's style and he's going for it. Inter are pretty much us but with more of Mourinho's favorite type of players: Hard workers. We contain Sneijder and Milito then we should do well. Plus, the one time Jose did beat Carlo, he needed an Adriano handball to win the game.
  16. Switch RVN for Higuain and then we'll talk.
  17. I remember him coming on against Sunderland and he could've had two goals. One that went slightly wide and one that if it had a bit more power that it would be a goal. There are a lot of great strikers over the years who don't look like they don't impress (Ruud and Pippo for one).
  18. The same can be said for Senderos, or the entire Arsenal backline.
  19. It's easy to say that. WHat matters is when you're called into action during the rare moment the defenders let you down. Dida may have had Maldini and Nesta in front of him but it doesn't change the fact that Dida's awful.
  20. Sp*urs Sp*urs Sp*urs Sp*urs Leeds Sp*urs Sp*urs Liverool Sp*urs Arsenal
  21. Oi! We keepers are insane for a reason.
  22. My favorite keeper and the reason why I became a keeper. Hope he gets better.
  23. Listening to TheGame podcast, Oliver Kay can go die in a fire.
