Near enough everyone was crap in the first half, but I thought Malouda, Lampard and JT were all good in the second half. I think I'll go for Malouda for some good attacking play and a great finish, although Lampard is certainly up there.

went with Malouda. It was close between him and Lampard, who certainly came alive in the second half. But won't get the option to vote for malouda that often, so went with him here.

Had some great passing, and skill, but again only against mediocre opposition!

I can't believe Malouda is considered an option. Surely a decent finish can't excuse a whole game of misplaced passes, running into blind alleys, losing the ball constantly and a consistent failure to backtrack.

I went for Lampard, but no one stood out that much. Cech looked solid, too.

do my eyes deceive me? malouda actually played well? jesus, newcastle must be utter crud...

Lampard, Di Santo and (dare I say it) Malouda all looked superb in the second half.

Not sure who I'd pick for MOTM, but very happy with a lot of performances, and of course the result.

No brainer in my eyes, Lampard was the main reason we're traveling home tonight with 3 points.

Thought Ivanovic looked quite good, Ashley was solid, and even Malouda didn't do toooo badly!

Great 3 points.

Lamps stole the show, showed an expectedly pumped up newcastle how to run a midfield, also Ashley deserves a "Bigup" got fwd superbly.Di santo also looked prety adept.

Lampard by a considerable distance.

I am surprised ot so many negative comments about parts of our performance today.

1. We were away at Newcastle

2. They were supposedly bouyed by the return of Captain Elbow

3. We have just had two internaitonal games with a whole stack of our players involved

4. We were missing Drogba and had to rely on Anelka and Kalou for goals

5. newcastle had a free reign to kick us!

Yet despite all of this we were largely comfortable throughout.

Definitley Frank.

Malouda was nothing special, he just did was a £13 million forward with a big reputation should.

Its just our expectancies of him have lowered so much , to such depths that as soon as he plays ok we think he has played a top match.

He isnt good, he's sh*t and today he had a half decent game, fair enough - but i just dont know how he is picked all the time and its got to stop.

Jt for me, simply because he's loking to be back at his best, and playing with his heart again for the club he loves

thought lampard was great especially in the 2nd half, and must give a tiny well done to malouda, as much as it pains me

Not sure I agree at all with the people bashing Malouda, yet again, he looked like he actually had a lot of determination and desire, something we haven't seen from him at all until recently.

In a couple of games lately he's been like that, the one player that, more than anyone else, really wants to drive forward, closes players down and generally looks really up for it.

Colour me impressed anyhow.

Lampard for me, excellent second half. Malouda did look half decent today but I won't be sold on him until he does it against a good team.

Went for Malouda, looked energetic throughout, in truth though Lampard was the more valuable player. Lampard's long range passing is underestimated.

Team looked solid but no real cutting edge. As usual Kalou earns himself one on one with goalie twice and misses both.

clearly, clearly lampard.

malouda was decent, but I can't see how he was our best player. he was okay, and for once he didn't look like a retired golfer, who since his retirement went blind and then decided to try football in order to impress an attractive woman, however due to his blindness his ball control suffered as much as his motivation, given he could no longer see said attractive woman.

Thats exactly what I was thinking!

When Lampard plays well, we usually win, that was the story yesterday, Special mention to Invanoic, looks solid after having his first game in months. I really want him to stay, as he is the only defender with pace. Di Santos looked good, unlucky not to score his maiden goal.

The thing is, many players delivered a good performance yesterday, however, Lampard stole the show.

I mentioned earlier that I have voted for Ashley Cole but I think Terry, Ivanovic, Malouda, Kalou and Di Santo also deserve a mention.

motm was for me lampard, although was impressed with malouda, and although it was a poor newcastle side,he showed an urgency which was a repeat of his short spell against spurs. maybe hes trying to convince everyone that we should keep him.agree with the back four apart from alex, all players make mistakes, but he seems to make the same ones over and over(clumsy and rash challenges).kalou, hmm, gives it his all,but repeating myself from other websites, doesnt look quality for me.got a bit greedy when he had the option of slipping in di santo, who looked good.has all the makings of a good back-up striker imo.was surprised he got nearly half an hour!

I thought Ivanovic was pretty poor in the first half... I think he lost possession every time he went near the ball in the first twenty minutes. A couple of good runs aside, I thought Kalou was pretty poor as well.

I agree- he didn't look great. his defending was sound enough, but his passing was horrible. understandable given how little football he's had, I suppose.
