Last Movie You Watched

Die Hard, the original.

My mum took me to see this when it first released. A good memory and a decent enough flick. The sequels ruined it imho, but the original was good.

Tammy. No, just no. 4/10.

I was going to watch this just because there isn't much else on. Think I'll just fire up a game or something instead.

Decent enough?

Good?

I think what you meant to say is, Die Hard is the greatest action movie that has ever been made and will ever be made.

I liked Die Hard 2... am in the minority? Is that the one with the guy from Shawkshank Redemption in it?

After 27 years (1988 release, yes?) I still find when it's on the tele that I watch it. I have no idea how many countless times that I have watched it but not many movies are worth a repeat, multiple times, after so many years.

Of the original 3 films (before they decided to butcher everything Die Hard represented with the 4th and 5th installments) I think the 2nd film is the weakest.

It's fairly decent still but there just aren't as many cool and memorable scenes and pieces of dialogue as there is in the 1st and 3rd films.

I first recorded it off of ITV one New Years on VHS and watched it a fair few times in my teens, eventually I bought the trilogy on as a box set and was surprised by how edited the dialogue was from my dodgy VHS tape, they'd just removed a lot of uses of the word "f**k" for no real apparent reason.

Anyway, I've rinsed my DVD's over the last 10 years or so and will probably watch Die Hard a few times every year... Just recently I've upgraded to a Blu Ray version of the film so the habit of routinely watching it is probably going to continue for a while longer yet.

I dare say I could probably recite more or less every line of the original at this point. It's just perfect as an action film in my opinion... and also doubles up as the greatest Christmas film ever made too.

Greater than Commando? The original Terminator? Aliens? Never!!

Better than Commando? The original Terminator? Aliens? Never!!

Commando, easily.

Original Terminator was decent but doesn't come close to quality of Die Hard in pretty much every aspect. The story line and concept of the film is brilliant, much better than Terminator 2 in my opinion but the delivery is a bit flat.

Aliens... meh, Cameron took a brilliant sci fi horror film and turned it into a bloated cheese fest... a very enjoyable cheese fest but not a patch on Alien. As an action film it's alright but again Die Hard trumps it all day long.

Top 5 for sure, but the greatest? Nah not having that, each to their own!

Commando is a lot of fun but it proper cheesy.

I don't think it is a "good" film, it pretty much comes down to Arnie blowing a load of sh*t up and then following it up with a cheesy pun.

I don't even think it's Arnie's best film, Total Recall was much better.

Total Recall is excellent, but then again I'm a bit of a Philip K Dick fanboy.

Die Hard 2 used to be my favourite when I was a kid, mainly because it was the only one we had on VHS and I used to watch it over and over. Nowadays I'd probably agree with FCC that it's my least favourite of the three, but I still think it's a very good film.

Deckard.

Replicant or not?

Yes. No. Maybe. From what I can remember from Dick's original story, I don't think its possible to know, and I think that Dick possibly left this ambiguous on purpose to further blur the lines between replicants and 'real' humans.

Never read the book, it's on the "to read" list.

Based purely on the film I say yes. There's some pretty hefty allusions to it throughout the film and to me it makes a lot of sense that he is a replicant.

Just downloading the Godfather trilogy, got most of the way through the first one before turning it off because a death upset me haha.

Was it the horse?
