I like it, it's a decent album. It's just... not very Faith No More. No surprise there, it's not the 90s, they're not 20 years younger and neither are we...

 

It's growing on me. Been listening to it since it was released and I'd say it's quite good. I'd even go as far as to say that it's better than Album of the Year, which is my least favourite Faith No More album. I'm not saying Album of the Year is a bad album, mind you.

There are some cracking songs on Album of the year, but most of it sounds like they were running on empty back then. The highlights are great, but there's some very forgettable stuff on it as well. I've got a theory that the band realized it and that's why they called it the Album of the Year. The new one sounds like they're interested in making music (together) again and it's more even as an album. It doesn't sound all that much like the older albums, which is actually a good thing (now that I've listened to it more). Album of the Year was too much of "the same old" for me. Maybe it wouldn't sound so bland (to my ears), if it didn't have the shadow of Angel Dust and "King for a Day..." hanging over it. The bar was set pretty darn high after those two albums.

Foos in preparation for 20 June at Wembley.  And also Royal Blood and Iggy for the same night.  T'will be good.

 

Can't stop listening to this, I just love this live version.

Tiken Jah Fakoly has a new song with Ken Boothe; a cover of Syl Johnson's 'Is It Because I'm Black?'. The original is from one of my very favourite albums, and Tiken is one of my very favourite artists at the moment, this is quite exciting:

"Native" by OneRepublic. I think it's their best yet. My favourite track on it has to "Love Runs Out".
