The Pilot of the US series 'Marvel's agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' was on Channel 4 yesterday evening. The idea is of an international force dealing with the threat posed by humans with special powers. I may not have been watching with 100% focus but the pilot seemed to lack focus itself. It tried to be dark and quirky/funny at the same time and missed both targets, imo though I did laugh once! The pilot looked expensive but the substance (yeah, I know we're talking Marvel) was absent.I may have to keep watching because Chloe Bennet is in it...:-)

Anybody else see it?

I was disappointed aswell. I got so excited about this as I've always been into that sort of thing but they failed massively there. I will still keep watching it though.

RAWHIDE.........dont try to understand em

just whip roll n brand em...........(cruel)

I'm more of a 'Wagon Train' bloke....

'Wagons hoah'

Ward Bond - legend.

The Sweeny - I was a lad of 9 and I'd sit, very quietly, out of my Dad's line of sight, hoping he would forget that I was in the room. Dad always remembered (usually as Regan picked up an air stewardess, etc) and I'd be packed off upstairs...damn.

That used to happen to me when the professionals was on, just as George Coles walked towards the screen it was bed time. GUTTED!!!

Yeah - same here. I got away with it once and saw a whole Sweeny. Dad wasn't happy but it was cool and staying up that late felt like you were a right rebel!

<br />Yeah I'm quite enjoying it. It's very hit and miss and some of the supporting actors are a bit sh*t but there's always a few scenes in each episode that crack me up. I loved the bit in last night's episode where Bob crawled up the wall with the bathtub on his back like a giant insect, and then Vic pulls out the shotgun to get him down.

Ha ha yeah that was a better. I thought last night's was one of the less good ones so far. I love matt berrys character beef, kills me when he's on.

Gee Spud…how old are you!   You'll be talking about 'Andy Pandy' and 'Bill and Ben', Supercar, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds, Twizzle, Torchy the Battery Boy etc next…….did I just give my age away? :face_palm:

It's like a guilty pleasure, the one where Vic was sat in the hole in the wall cracked me up, what a laugh they must have earning money doing that eh?

For a slightly younger generation, London's Burning served the same purpose. It was shown on a Sunday night around bedtime. It was a real victory if you got to stay up and watch it all!

Matt Berry's character is great and he plays it perfectly. The Robert Mugabe's Personal Nerve Agent advert from a couple of weeks ago is one of the highlights of the series for me, "YOU... kill HIM".

Inside No. 9 tonight at 10PM on BBC2. This is the 3rd episode in a new 6-part series of one-off stories by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton (most well-known for The League of Gentlemen). I'm really looking forward to this since I enjoyed the previous two episodes, the second in particular was probably the funniest half an hour of British comedy I've seen for ages. I'd highly recommend it for fans of the darker side of comedy, I think both the episodes so far are still available on iPlayer.

I didn't even know they were making a TV adaption. Fargo was a great film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen (personally I think it's their best) who are also excecutive producers on the TV series, and considering the quality of the cast (Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk) it looks promising.

I've been watching Prison Break for the last few weeks, currently about half way through season 2.

Loved nearly every minute of it so far, it's a shame one of my knobhead friends told me what happens at the end of the entire series though.

I LOVE Prison Break. I watched the whole thing years ago at university. Unfortunately it never reaches the highs of the first series. Season 2 is good, and they cleverly "shake things up a bit" for season 3, striking a completely different tone. But Season 1 is by far the best.

Shame one of your "friends" ruined it for you. I'd disown them if I were you.

Prison Break got progressively worse... Season one was superb though, really enjoyed watching it.

I'm almost caught up with season 4 of The Walking Dead now, I think I'm only 2 episode behind.

Then I'm intending to watch season 2 of House of Cards, I loved the first season of that.

Been watching a bit of Arrow as well but it doesn't really seem to be getting much better.

I am really loving Always Sunny In Philadelphia at the moment, I watch an episode in bed each night on my tablet, really funny, appeals to my sense of humour.

Always Sunny is probably my favourite comedy of all time, it's consistently fantastic throughout the seasons as well.

I've been neglecting the Walking Dead lately, haven't been watching it since it returned last month but i've seen up until the recent episodes.

Fargo was brilliant, first film I saw Steve Buscemi in I think. Only time will tell but as you say this does look promising.
