188BET are running a feature whereby football fans are asked to write a paragrapgh or two on their favourite game changing moment in an Chelsea match.

They are looking for 4 or 5 from each club and the articles will be posted on their site so that other fans can see them and also comment themselves.

The articles which receive the most comments from other people will then be awarded prizes by 188BET.

It would be good to get 4 or 5 from here so if anyone is up for it post your paragraph here.

I need to have them submitted by January 16th so get thinking.

Cheers

Loz

Sparky's goal back against Liverpool in the FA Cup 4th round in 1997 was a huge turning point. 2-0 down at the break and up against it. Sparky came off the bench as I recall and we hit back instantly. 51st minute? A long ball up to the edge of the box, chested down on the turn and a low powerful drive past the despairing keepers dive. That put us well and truly back in it, the rest is history.

Cast your minds back to a Wednesday night at Hillsborough back in 1985 in the League Cup, massive crowd and decent

support for Chelsea,

Wednesday started well and bombarded Niedzwieckis area with high balls towards Lee Chapman.

The Owls opened the Scoring from a free kick with a headed (maybe deflected) goal from Mike Lyons.

Chapman got the second with his head and Marwood got the third.

Half Time and at 3-0 to the Sheffield Club Hillsbourough was erupting.

Chelsea Manager John Neal pulled Colin Lee and brought Dale Jasper into the CB position bringing on Substitute Paul Canoville over

on the left wing lined up in a 4-2-4 formation 12 seconds into the second half Canoville latched onto a Speedie flick and

it was 3-1,

A good ball from Nevin set up Thomas for 3-2,

Chelsea started to get a foothold in midfield and Dixon pulled another back after good work from Canoville and Speedie again.

The away fans were now drowning out the nervous home support and soon Dixon had slid Canoville through who saw the keeper get a touch on his

shot and it dip in to the net for 3-4.

Wednesday threw everything forward and Sterland won a Penalty when Doug Rougvie was judged to have fouled him and Sterland hit the Ball straight down the middle

for 4-4

The game ended at 4-4 after extra time and Chelsea went on to win at Stamford Bridge 2-1 but the arrival of Paul Canoville was a huge turning point in an exciting game.

Was going to mention the liverpool game as well, thought we where done at half time and sparky came on and changed the game. We seemed to play total football in that second half. one of the best halfs of football I have ever seen.

natrually there is the tie changing goal against barca, that whole tie swung like a yo yo and then terry finished it with the header

Maniche gettin sent off when we were 0-1 down to West Ham at the bridge a few years ago. We went on to win 4-1.

Maniche getting sent off = turning point in that game?

I know he wasnt that great for us but he cant be THAT bad? :D

20,000 of Chelsea’s finest travelling from all 4 corners of the globe by air, boat , car , coach , rickshaw all arrived in Stockholm on the 13th May 1998 . We all had a great time pre match with plenty of beer drunk and songs sung until everyone was horse . The only downer was the reports our forward maestro Zola would not be fit for the game . On arrival at the stadium it was a joy to see the original special one sitting on the bench .

Cometh the hour cometh the man . Zola made his arrival on the pitch in the 70th min. a sublime pass was chipped into his path by Wise in the 71st min. which Zola duly buried in the back of the Stuggart net .This saw the whole Stadium erupt apart from the 4,000 travelling Stuggart fans and Cheslea win a European trophy for the second time .

What about the home leg against vicenza, 1 down from the first leg, I remember gus getting on the score sheet, and if I remember rightly Hughes scored and knocked himself out late on to send us through

Beat me to it you sod. That game was the first time I outwitted my dad, we were watching it and I said we need Franco on to get beyond their defenders. He disagreed, literally 3 minutes later Zola scored that goal and I went mental. I then sat there smug as the smuggiest smug thing ever, until my dad jumped on me at the final whistle and carried me round the house singing "champione champione ole ole ole"....brilliant.

My sarcasm got the better of me.. its probably not even in my top ten moments but i said i'd throw it in.

im with you simply as that really. chelsea are back hello hello

With chippy on the wednesday match,me and a school mate went to the bridge expecting to get train/match tickets on the night, what a pair a d*ckheads!.A guy around the forecourt wishperd there might be a coach organised from a pub up the road,(can't remeber the name unfortunatly).Honestly, we must have looked like a couple of spare ones at an orgy as we went into that boozer, but, the trip up to sheffield was an eye opener. The older guys in front were smoking some odd smelling fags by jove, and for a toilet, a small bucket in the doorway that as it was filled, the coach pulled over to the hard shoulder and tipped its contents onto the carridgeway. When we arrived, the coach was parked in a layby at roof level to hillsborough,it looked like a sparkling jewel in a crown,at ground level, it looked like what it was, a sh*thole. The match itself was all wednesday/smugness in the first half, but second half cometh the man cometh paul canoville. His best game ever, not only for the blues but for anyone, and if only doug the thug was someware else that night. The few things that stay with me to this day from that night,...the smugness from the old bill to us southern softies, untill the score went 3-3,the northeners calling crisps chips, the fuzz forcing us onto buses to the station, howard wilkinson blowing a gasket at fulltime, mikey thomas, was that the smell of weed? and, finally, the young chap, whoever you are,who said to me and my mate when we arrived at sheffield, "don't worry,we won't leave without you",i still wonder how long they waited, sorry fella, it was the sheffield police force that forced us onto the train.

I'd go with this too! Although the Sparky moment against Liverpool was great, I think the Zola sub to bring us a trophy has to be the one!

damn..............got on this tad late, and some of my best picks already gone........................so I'll nominate couple others

1. wayne bridge goal against arse in the CL - broke the spell' they had on us and proved we were at the top level

2. ivan 1st goal away to scouse CL .....................also showed we could take the pressure of being a goal down at anfield

3. essie goal away last 2 mins agaist valencia also in the CL

Plenty more from the 60's, 70's & 80's........................

Neutral ground. The most despised team of the era just in front - for the third time - after one hundred and ninety eight minutes of football. One of the dirtiest games in history between two sides with total contempt for each other. A heroic keeper hobbling on one leg. A quick exchange of passes in midfield. A dart forward towards the right, and a chip of staggering beauty into the box. A majestic dive. A game-saving and game-changing goal.

I'm surprised it took this long for this to be said. ^

I think the game changing moment from that game was Frank's equaliser - we were edging the game from that point, it was just a question of whether we could get a winner before extra time. After all the times they'd come from behind against us that season (FA Cup, the league & CL games at the Bridge) it was great to see that we could also come back.

clive walker against bolton in 83, if we would have gone down to the third we would have been finished and the tony hateley bullit header against leeds to get us to our first wembley final after two previous semi- final defeats and jesper against liverpool rn 2003 to secure a champoins league place

Cardiff Vs Chelsea (Old Div 2)

Chelsea were 3-0 down with 10 minutes left.

I decided to start walking back to the train station early, got to the exit and I heard the crowd errupt, ran back into th stand, Speedie had got one back, so I stood by the exit staircase with a load of other fans.

My decision to stay paid dividends for the team as we wen on to score 2 more goals (Dixo-Speedie) and grab a very unlikely point, eventually going on to win the title.

You can all thank me for that win, everytime I get up to go early something happens on the pitch, bank on it.
