I used to read the Chelsea Independent but it went through a stage of having far to much political comment for a football fanzine. Did the book shed any light on the rumour that Eddie Mac resigned over a company car? Conte's on 9 Million a year and poor old Eddie werent even entiitled to a Ford Granada. Amazing how the games changed. Edited April 12, 20188 yr by Ewell CFC

I haven't read it yet I'm reading the Chelsea Independent one first mainly because it's a toilet book you know just pick it up and flick through it. Would have been interesting to see how Eddie Mac would have done definitely better than Shellito and bloody Danny Blanchflower. Edited April 12, 20188 yr by bluehaze

Chopper played at left back that day ( right footed left back, Gary Locke was right back). Bonetti was in goal, so John Phillips can't be doing anything else other than joining in a pitch invasion, just for the hell of it! It did occur that maybe he was trying to get away from the hordes, but if he was on the bench all he'd have to do to ecape would be run down the East Stand tunnel?

April 18, 20188 yr The Watford game in 79 I saw this kid from school the same age as me at FB station before the game and on Monday I saw him on the playground. I said '' Alright mate I didn't know you supported Chelsea and told him where we met up when we were going to the Bridge. He looked at me and said '' Err I support Watford'' I couldn't believe it to this day he's the only Watford fan I know. Your free to choose to support who you want he came from Stonebridge and Watford is only about half an hour on the train but to say it was uncool to support someone like Watford in 79 is an understatement.
