Me and my brothers were given a quid to go to watch Live and Let Die they went I spent the money on football cards and sweets 😁. The early 70's ones were cardboard and were used for games like topsys and knocksys no idea how to spell them ha ha but one was you laid cards out and tried to land a card on top of another and the second one you put cards up against the wall and tried to knock them over you kept what you won a sort of early gambling 50 years since I first played it wow ! Think they stopped making them when Panini started getting popular towards the late 70's. As for Tommy Langley mixed feelings about him he is Chelsea and so are his family different times and all that but when players score against former clubs these days they don't celebrate he bloody did and right over the top it was. He scored against us 1980 I think it was at Loftus Rd the away end was the uncovered Loft for that season and he celebrated alright although he did have a good reason as we were singing ''We're going to shoot Tommy Langley'' . We sang it first when we played them at home the same season he scored and did a bloody lap of honour round the pitch near enough especially in front of the West Stand the sort of fans who sat there then weren't the kind who sat there a couple of years later he would have got lynched if he tried it in 1983 🤣 http://cards.littleoak.com.au/197071_abc_orangebacks/chelsea.htm Edit: Not quite as bad as I remembered but giving the two fingers very 70's no one ever uses the old Harvey Smith anymore 🤣 Edited October 22, 20223 yr by bluehaze

In the press it mentioned someone tried to get in the ground with an air pistol. Probably made up sh*t.

Couldn't remember when they got there whether they were trying to clump each other through the bars or not; St Johns Ambulance having to treat multiple broken hands....just looked online and it was only a low fence so head punches above...handy if you're lanky with a long reach I guess. 81-82 was the last year of ' North Stand North Stand Do You're Job' Barnsley brought down about 500 and that's the final time I remember it really kicking off in there, and it went on for quite a bit

Remember Bates saying office moving into the east stand, but thought it was nearer the time of redevelopment. Don’t remember the parking spaces marked out, although was a west stand season ticket holder and shop was now outside the ground so no need to go in main gate.

Don’t remember much from the league cup game but was definitely lively second visit!!

Think he's talking about 1981 it definitely kicked off cause I remember about 3.15 a load of geezers singing the Barnsley as they walked into their pen we knew from the Shed exactly who they were. Pretty sure it was @Peckham Blue who said after the game Barnsley fans when they were escorted out after the game to the tune of time your kangaroo down sport started singing '' I'll your remember your face mate''' and at Oakwell later in the season half the town came out miners the whole shebang and took no prisoners with our boys.

He used to be a bouncer at The Bonne Bonney in Herne Hill and the Royal Box at The Albert Hall. After some game we were waiting for him to get back to the motor and have a few scoops before Sunday afternoon closing time...he bowls up with a graphic equaliser he's just nicked from an adjacent car....he was pretty wild then...involved in the print trade, he's now a multi millionaire
