Ah that's so memorable. I was in the shed at the weekend and it's completely unrecognisable! Wish I'd taken photos when I first went!

It's good that the Shed Wall is staying as part of the redevelopment of the Bridge.

At a couple of recent home games, the chant "We're the middle, we're the middle, we're the middle of the Shed." has been sung by the Shed End. And quickly followed by "We're the west side, we're the west side, we're the west side of the shed." Took me back a few years.

Carshalton you must have taken that soon after the terrace was updated, as the old half time scoreboard is there. Chelsea wasted money we didn't have by putting in electronic scoreboard during the 78/79 season. Not many there to see it working for the Coventry home game lost 3-1 Tommy Langley the first person to have his name up in lights!!!

My first memory of the bridge was seeing the floodlights from a distance. Happy days

night games lights looked great from Victoria or coming by road as I went over battersea bridge. Amazing how bright they use to look, even after taking down two of the towers in the late 70's

Sure did. I used to love how you could see into the east upper from the Fulham road

Guys, you have made my day,no my year.

What fantastic memories,I started going to home games at around 1978/79.I was 13 at the time and I went to Bishop Ramsey School in Ruislip.

In fact most of my friends at school were Chelsea and by the time we hit the early 80s we had a regular little group of between 10-15 school kids meeting at about 12-00 to travel up to The Bridge and stand in the middle of The Shed. Then a few of us started going to away games,we had the bug big time.

Always remember Cambridge away, walking through those fields trying not to step on cows dung and having the whole ground with Chelsea.City away and Portsmouth away stick out.

My older brother is Cockneymark,he's done a few uploads on youtube.

Not to forget when Kerry stuck the volley in at the Clock End.Never been to a game like that for atmosphere and sheer numbers.

Does anyone know the attendance that day?

Around 45000, from my view in the west side of the clock end I was opposite all the Chelsea in the open bit of the North Bank, when that goal went in....mayhem!
