Here you go, the  AAA Championships at The Bridge from 1927.

I was actually looking for any footage of the great Eric Liddell running at The Bridge. Not found any so far.

Found this picture of Eric Liddell running at the Bridge:

A bit off subject but there were some articles in the news earlier in the week about baseball to be played at the London Stadium (West Ham's ground) this year. Not the first time baseball has been played on a football pitch in the U.K. Baseball was played at the Bridge many years ago. I think the U.S. Army played the U.S. Navy.

Blimey, that water in the steeplechase was a bit deep. I'm sure it's nowhere near that nowadays.

Just watched the clip of the pole-vault. The vaulters landed on the grass: a bit different from now when they land on a mat. Possibly because the bar is a lot higher now. I think that this has been discussed before but a lot of sports have been played at the Bridge over the years. In addition to football there has been athletics, speedway, mini-car racing, greyhound racing, rugby union, rugby league, American football, cricket and baseball. Any other sports?

The famous game v Moscow Dynamo in late 1945 ?

Suspect it is given that there are some fans in military uniforms and people on the roof of the Shed. Just noticed that there are some fans on top of the Shed wall looking through the gap under the roof.

Cheers mate.

You're welcome mate. Liddell attended a college not far from where I live and its sports centre is named after him. A few years ago one of his daughters came over from Canada to speak about her father at one of the local churches. A very interesting talk.
