Apologies if I'm on repeats- can't remember what memories I've already posted- the 6-nil I went to with an Arsenal mate from school who was very impressed with the atmosphere and general banter.

The 4-nil in 84 for some reason I didn't go, but remember Kevin Keegan saying that Pat Nevin must have had glue on the end of his boot- this really tickled a mate of mine who for a while after kept proclaiming " Pats got glue!"

Its been mentioned on here before but the away in 84 I was on one of the specials that got walked through what I now know as the Big Market- we must have walked past half a dozen pubs and there were glasses flying everywhere.

When we got to the ground, we were standing in the away end street, when a copper said " why dyou want to get in now. Why don't you take a walk around the corner and have some fun"

A few of the chaps duly darted off- I saw one of these blokes inside the ground a bit later and asked how they got on, to which he replied "'we made em look silly".

Funny thing was he had a great big shiner on him, so it couldn't have been plain sailing!

The 83/84 season saw us play at home one week when Fulham were at home to Newcastle as well, a couple of Fulham mates said after game when walking away from the cottage they passed hundreds of Chelsea walking towards craven cottage, they were going to say hello to the Geordies.

Shame the 83/84 wasn’t on tv. I was on the benches down by the north stand. I thought the Pat Nevin run led to a cross but we didn’t score. Unbelievable performance that afternoon, showed we were ready for promotion.

The 79/80 4-0 was a good game and but for some poor results around March April time we should have gone up.

The 80/81 6-0 what a game, in a good position in the league then went on a really bad run, something must have happened behind the scenes for such a collapse. Also Phil Driver never lived up to that early performance which was a shame.

The 79/80 after thrashing Newcastle we then lost 1-0 to Wigan on the following Monday. I was giving it we're going up at school on the Monday I then got the worse piss taking ever on the Tuesday after we lost to Wigan only Chelsea could have done that to you. I can still see Fillery's missed sitter against Wigan.

I love the fact that some of us oldies probably can't remember what they did last Tuesday but can remember where they brought and how much they paid for a Pringle back in 1983.

it is also the little things that come back in our minds ,probably because they have never gone away ,like Bluehaze and the Wigan result,I remember being at that newcastle game but I have no memories of losing to wigan next game but to Bluehaze I suspect it is like it happened yeterday.

The result after the result for some strange reason I always remember is  a game we played after the very infamous Palace cup game back in 75-76 ,2 nil down 2-2 to then lose 3-2 ,Kung fu kicks and 50,000 fans ,Jimmy hill on match of the day ,we all know the game .On the Monday at school my friends all asked were you there and I was like no ,missed it ,couldn't go etc but I am going this Wednesday ,hull city at home and they were like wow !

So some 4 days later after the Palace game off I head to London thinking this is going to be brilliant ,can't wait to see another King fu kick etc and to tell my school mates. The game was a 0 0 draw, absolute rubbish watched by 10,000 fans ,I still wonder to this day where the other 40,000 fans went to ?

Same as Liverpool 82. 42,000 on the Saturday thousands locked out the best result and performance for years couple of days later 9,000 against Cardiff.

I remember watching us beat Southampton in the League Cupon Wednesday night when we were in Div 2 and they were doing well in Div 1. It went to extra time and we played really well to win 2-1. Three days later we went up to Rotherham and got beat 6-0.

As you say, my memory about Chelsea back then is a hell of a lot better than it is for things much more recent.

Couldn't get into the Shed that night had to go in the Northstand think Keegan was playing for them.

I'm in there somewhere was a massive queue to get in but we managed to bunk into the seats which was just as well because the Chelsea fans below were getting hit by the missiles.

I think we run about 3 specials that day.

We had both tiers of the away end plus the side enclosure. Remember the train back being very downbeat- we had nothing but the FA Cup to play for and lived in hope as ever.

That game has got to be the obvious example of the actual gate being bigger than the official gate I can remember.
