Curious why the club went to expense of special shirts and shorts to match the yellow socks.  Was this kit only worn against teams like Leeds or Spurs who wore white socks?

Was this kit worn for the first time in the 1970 FA Cup replay ?.

Was talking about beer in the legends match day what was the beer they used to sell at the ground pre Coors?. I have a memory of a green and white can possibly Kestrel or Scandia Green being served in the West and East Stand. Whatever it was it was horrible !!

They definitely sold Orangeboom circa 83.

Remember this because they couldn't give the stuff away cause it was so rotten. Was queuing at the bar and a bloke remarked " shows how much they think of us fans, ...... Orangeboom!"

My local Off Licence recently started selling it, hadn't seen it for couple of decades, it's now in blue tins. 5% strength, £1 per 500ml tin.

Hoffmeister cans in the west stand late 80s early nineties. 1£ a can, the remarks re price were funny!

Don't remember Hoffmeister in the ground but to be honest I didn't drink much in the ground mainly because it was vile.

I used to love going for a mooch around and a chat at half time. ( West Stand, bar area)

Funny thing is I can't remember the layout of it- must have been just a big featureless space.

In through double doors. Long wooden bar top old shelves behind with crisps toffee popcorn and wagon wheels!! Tea and Bovril. In answer to your memory “just a big featureless space!”
