Why isn't Chelsea's worst ever signing Tommy Harmer in the picture? Probably too embarrassed. What made it worst was we signed the bugger from Spurs. Thanks. That's me not looking at your post and the picture properly. Too much beer last night. Found this about the squad for 1962-1963 and no mention of More. Very strange. https://www.11v11.com/teams/chelsea/tab/players/season/1963/

I guess he never played for the first team. http://thechels.info/wiki/1962-63_season_London_Combination_League

May 4, 20188 yr Footage of a game v Forest at the Bridge in 1976/77. We'd both be promoted at the end of the 1976/77 season. Who would have predicted then, what Forest would achieve in the next three seasons !

Live on TV that was unusual, remember Pat when he scored you could see on TV he was telling fans not to come on pitch, my Saturday morning paper round took me ages as I read every report in the papers about the game on my way round, was really proud as it was on national TV and everyone could see what a good side we had what terrific away support we had, my god 34 years ago. Here we go again that season!! Now are we sad old men harping on about the good old days, or was really as good as I can remember, I will go for the latter. Happy days

Left the bridge by coach lunch time, was told had to go by coach as there was a surprise!! Got to the game late, was the norm back then! Strange thing, had seats in the corner of the home end which were tickets From Chelsea! Climbed over to seats into the stand at the side which was packed out with Chelsea! Opposite we could see our fans packed next to Cityin the Kippax. Great night finished off with the surprise of going to the Grand Hotel for a 4 course meal courtesy of Mr and Mrs Bates! They stood there as we came in to the hotel function suite they had hired. Shook everyone’s hand and bought everyone their first drink before we sat down to eat. After, with a Chelsea Union Jack flag worn around his waist, Bates led us on a sing song until about 1-1:30am when we were told that guests were trying to sleep! 200 happy fans then boarded coaches back to the bridge for about 6 am ready for the first tubes running. Forward thinking by our chairman. As I said great night on and off the pitch, one of the many reasons I still love season 83:84
May 4, 20188 yr While we're on the subject of that great season, here's my latest pub shirt. Very happy with how the iron-on Le Coq Sportif transfer turned out, especially after destroying the first shirt I bought!

May 5, 20188 yr Here you go. The full second half. enjoy. To put it into perspective about live matches. They were in their infancy and shown on either a Friday night or Sunday afternoon. Certainly league or FA Cup ties. The European Championships in France that summer were, unbelievably, shown as 'Highlights only' in the evening until the actual Final !
