Not enough uniqueness if that makes sense. Its frustrating that game I loved and spent hundreds of hours on has so much more potential to be fulfilled Yes I agree, that's why I said that the design is outdated, specially the quests and interactions. At some point you need to ignore all that stuff because it feels like there are 10 people in a whole city and obviously nothing ever happens unless YOU want it to happen, I hope they make the new game better but keep some elements that worked, I didn't like that feeling that my player is the center of the world and that nothing ever happens if I don't start something and then when I do it's basically another dungeon same same most of the time.

Yeah the cities emptiness and lifelessness is one the games biggest drawbacks for me! You encounter more bandits in 5 minutes of wilderness than you could find in all of Whiterun 🤣 I'm no computer expert but I'd guess thats down to the limitations of the technology.

The overall design of a game like Skyrim is outdated IMO, even so you just get lost in that world and create your own mini-story within a story, obviously mods made the game better I liked to gather stuff for crafting an epic weapon...So I hope they make Elder Scroll 6 good, the feel of Skyrim was iconic. Don’t worry, I’m sure they remaster the remaster of the remaster for the next gen consoles! People moaning about GTA V when Skyrim has been banging about for ages!

On the first 2 i got just past where you kill that Griffin near the beginning but it has never managed to hold my attention despite being what i would think was exactly my type of game. Can anyone reassure me that sticking with it this time will be worth it?🤣 If that fails I might re-visit Alien Isolation which despite being repetative is one of the best designed and most atmospheric games I've ever played. A must for fans of the films. Try to go straight to the Bloody Baron quest line. It's a really good, complex self contained story and forces some tough choices on you. If you aren't hooked once that's finished, it's not the game for you. Back to the topic. Played through and completed Final Fantasy VII remake. It's very obviously padded out and I really wasn't a fan of pretty much all the changes surrounding Sephiroth but the Avalanche members getting more screen time and fleshed out characterizations was good. Also enjoyed the Shinra directors. Now the wait for Part 2 (which I'm willing to be will be on PS5)

AMD are expected to release their new CPU's and Nvidia are expected to released their RTX 3000 series GPU's in autumn. If you wait a bit longer, you could be set years.

Try some of the mods for Skyrim, theres a couple of full quests that are better than anything that came with the game. Forgotten city for example, it was so good its being made into a full game by the people who made the mod.
July 30, 20205 yr Anyone played the RE3 remake? I've been playing loads of Persona 5 and P5 Royal, and then mixing a game or two in here and there. Horizon Zero Dawn, RE7 were both amazing. RE2 remaster was good, then played Jedi Fallen Order which was good but glitchy. Having not played any of the Final Fantasy Games I recently bought the FF7 remaster, and will give that a shot to see what the JRPG "turn" based gameplay is like in this versus the likes of Persona Any feedback based on what I've listed above as my games in the past year and a bit are greatly welcome.
August 4, 20205 yr Slowly making my way through The Last of Us 2. Been abit slow for me so far. Not really enjoyed it.

RE3 is apparently good but very short. It takes less time to complete than completing RE2 with a single character. Something to get when it's cheap. I enjoyed the FFVII Remake a lot. The battle system bares little resemblance to the quasi-turn based original though (there is a mode to play it that style but I wouldn't recommend it as it's not how it's designed to be played)

Wonder if they are going to remake them all, because RE4 was amazing, then they really fell off until 7, IMHO. I'm only just getting into FF7, and so far it seems ok. Hoping it will grow on me, as right now I can only control 2 characters.

I didn't struggle too much with it, as I kind of remembered a lot from when I originally played it...don't waste bullets unnecessarily, and running away from certain enemies doesn't help as running makes noise. It's wonderfully scary, and I liked the bits (I think this was a new addition) where you can board up windows to stop more zombies coming in. Those damn "lickers" suck though, and it was always tough to leave something unsolved by Chris, hoping that Jane would be able to get that on her turns)

The licker on the ceiling on the left side of the police station is a nightmare unless you've plenty of shotgun ammo (which you probably don't at the start) . Lickers in general were much more difficult than in the original, I always used the most powerful gun (next to the magnum) I had to kill them. The shipping container Birkin fight was also incredibly frustrating. In the second scenario you had nowhere near enough ammo at the start and it was easy to run out and for you to need to get past 2-3 zombies in a narrow corridor (especially as you couldn't board up all the windows you needed to).

Not many bullets, the puzzles etc. Proper tough.
August 5, 20205 yr Anyone played Fall Guys yet? I tried to get on last night but servers were full. Also, has anyone played Ghost of Tsushima yet?
August 11, 20205 yr Pretty much the only game I have been playing for the past 3 months is Phantasy Star Online 2. I used to hate this game, it took a ton of time to learn how everything works, but I am loving it now. It's really addictive once you get going.
August 14, 20205 yr Picked up Ghost of Tsunami today - my word, what a game. Game of the year for me.
August 17, 20205 yr If anyone watches AP Bio season 2 is out on Sky. It’s basically Glen Howerton playing his standard Dennis-like character at a school
August 17, 20205 yr Bought Red Dead Redemption 2 and started playing through that. Haven't got too far yet though.

I was the same as I am with the GTA games, really excited for the game, love the early parts just walking around finding random things to do, start doing the main story then get bored of all the "go here, bring this to this person" quests.

Tried playing the online in the last couple of weeks because I was done with the game after finishing the campaign when it was first released. It's a horrible buggy mess though. Constant glitches and crashes have made it almost unplayable, I'm pretty close to giving up on it. Fall Guys meanwhile continues to be brilliant.
