Someone needs to f**king sort this out, it's getting ridiulcous. In the last few home games players been slipping over all over the bloody place.

If they're going to water the pitch, get the players some longer studs, it's getting f**king stupid now.

Except we'll be sliipping over constantly as well... One slip and Messi is in for a goal.

Only seems to be Chelsea players who slip, Wigan didn't have any problems keeping their feet today. Surely players know which studs to select, they'd know the state of the pitch from the pre-match warm-up.

I saw a number of Wigan players slipping over as well. Same with Benfica players in the last match.

The commentators seemed to blame Fernando's 'indecisiveness' for his slipping. What a complete load of bollocks. It's a problem with the pitch.Any other team and it would have been poor quality pitch.

Haha, haters gonna hate. From what I saw, Torres was too decisive when he slipped the second time. Too much power, too little friction.

I said at the time in the match thread that the commentator was a twat for saying this but some of our fans seemed to blame torres aswell. How the f**k is he ment to have any control on whether he slips or not? How is him not being decisive making him slip over? It's just another thing on the long list that media will try and use against torres. I didn't hear gale bigging up torres when he hit a superb volley that won us the game.

Must admit, I don't really understand why they're slipping. The surface isn't cutting up. The pitch looks to be in good nick. Better than it used to at this stage of the season. Remember just a few years ago when it was dire?

read this earlier on bleacher report with regars to torres slipping. To defend the players a bit though modern pitches tend to be firm, so players choose molded or shorter studs, but when we water the pitch for the game, it becomes a problem because the long studs needed for traction on the wet surface, dont actually go into the hard pitch, so players are left with conumdrum.

Years ago, Diego Forlán kept slipping against Chelsea and he revealed the hairdryer treatment Sir Alex Ferguson gave him:

"Ferguson wanted me to play with long studs, the interchangeable ones that suit wet pitches, but I feel more comfortable in short ones. I agreed to change but I didn't and, against Chelsea, I slipped in front of goal and wasted a chance. Afterwards, I rushed to the dressing room to change boots but Ferguson caught me. He grabbed the boots and threw them. That was my last game for United."

Its almost laughable when players feel the need to change their boots, 10 minutes into a game. You would think they would know what boots go with what surface.

Too much power, too little friction.

Oh the amount of times my wife has said that to me........................

Ah, the old "its coming in dry tonight love".....

If the grass was 3 inches high messi would be useless as it would be above his eyeline

When you're dressed like a freakin' bender with orange shoes, you will trip. The females need to find back their black shoes, rock solid.

Haha twice the weight and the flexibility of a brogue. Give me gay synthetic leather all day long...
