Have to say I wouldn't blame him to be honest. It has been bad for him. Only these last two weeks he's been able to enjoy with the trophies. It all started sour and it never changed. If he finds a new club and the two clubs agree the fee I say go for it and goodbye. He has shown glimpses of that old magic but if he is miserable it is not for the benefit of this club. Which ultimately is the most important thing.

Not all deals are match made in heaven. If he stays and fights like he's done all the time I'm glad he is our man but if he decides he wants to go I support him in that as well. The pressure on his head must have been unbearable at times. He seems like a humble nice lad so it pains to see him suffer.

Hope all turns for the best and he stays and enjoys his trophy-filled life at Chelsea.

If he was to leave IMO only way that would happen would be player swap type of deal. If we were to sell him would end up making massive losses and losing much dignity in the process

This all depends on what Drogba does... If Drogba stays I can see Torres wanting to leave, if Drogba leaves then I think Torres will stay.

Its a bit annoying because you have to earn your place in the team, and if Torres starts putting them away at a better rate and is playing better than Drogba then he deserves his starting place. But for the final he wasnt, so he has to think about his game and think about improving if he wants to be the number one guy at Chelsea.

I'm sorry but this is really starting too p**s me off now, they've scored pretty much the same amount of goals, and Torres has more assists, Drogba was having a poor game the other night until his goal. That's not taking anything away from him, he still got the goal, and will go down as a club legend in my eyes, but I'm sick of reading this cr*p like Drogba just had an amazing season, he never.

This is true but if you look at what goals and what time Drogba scored there is a huge huge difference between the two. I wouldn't even go as far as comparing them actually. Torres worked his arse off this season and he managed to gather okay numbers 11+15 but those two Drogba final goals are so important. Can't really compare the two basically.

Not a great season from Drogs but he managed to nail his legendary status with two goals. We wont see Drogba playing 50 games and scoring 35 goals ever for this club. That is why i think the two can coexist Torres being the starter for league games. Why not even play them at the same time if the supporting players are right. Drogba is 20 games a season man.

Here lies the problem. You can't expect Torres firing when he knows that he is never going to be preferred in the important matches. The same goes for Falcao, Cavani and Neymar. These people breathe for the big matches (except Gomez maybe). All Torres is saying is that he wants to know if he is Chelseas man. He will have plenty of options this summer, and if he goes to Juventus (for example) I can easily see him as Serie A's top scorer next season. Not to mention that we have a young Sturridge, Lukaku and even Bamford who will thrive on game time in the central forward role in years to come. Keeping Torres (or getting Falcao) and re-signing Drogba for 2 years can be the death of our Youth development.

I was left speechless yesterday when Guillem Balague started releasing parts of the interview on tweeter. My take: in 18 months Torres has produced nigh on nothing. At the same time he has probably been paid close to 2 million, this season he won the FA Cup and the CL. RDM had his reasons for not starting him and reasons why he wasn't trusted to take a penalty. In any other walk of life he would have lost his job a year ago. If he feels as he suggests in the interview, he should hand in a transfer request and become a ballerina, otherwise he should shout the f**k up, roll up his sleeves and prove to every one he's fit to where the Chelsea no. 9 shirt.

If he does go it is surely his loss.

You have to earn your place in the team and for the big games every single decision to pick Drogba has been justified.

I don't want him to go...I want him to be our main striker next season, and score 30+ goals....

But if he were to leave, it's not like his contributions will be hard to match for the next player...

But we'd probably lose a lot of value on him.

After watching a certain interview with him on SSN at the parade yesterday i cant help but feel this story is complete bull. He seemed ecstatic and was even mentioning about how much he is looking forward to the super cups next season.

For me if Torres cant cope with the preasure that comes with playing for Chelsea and competing with Drogba for a place then he should look else where. Even if Drogba goes we will get a new striker and he will have to compete with him.

Also if Torres wants to start in the big games he needs to be putting the ball in the back of the net during the rest of the season.

People are also forgetting that Drogba was away for the African cup this year. In that time where Torres knew he would be starting each game he failed to score a single goal.

You also have to take into account that we were sh*t in that period also. He is going to want to be told he is the main man, but I also think he will be asking what Romans intentions are in terms of new players coming in. He might not know until our new manager is announced but if we don't get more creative players I can see him wanting out.

I say let him leave then. If he doesnt want to play for Chelsea no matter who is coming in then i say f**k off Nando. You are not bigger than this club.

If he was scoring 40 goals a season then maybe he might have a bit of a say but he isnt and can be replaced.

Hes put in some good performances since Jan. Give him a break ffs. You lot talk about his contribution been small. Benfica, Napoli, Munich. Commitment and contribution team wise has beenthere. Would the fans really support him like this if it wasnt the case.

Posted

Don't get me wrong, I love Torres, and have been rooting for him since he joined the club and want him to stay...

But over a year and a half, his contributions have not been so great that no one can match them. In fact, if our next striker didn't perform up to Torres' standard it would be shambolic.

Posted

I think we have to keep him, just because he is starting to look like the Torres of old. He's got his shooting boots back on, can beat a man now, seems to have regained a bit of his pace and overall looks to have gained confidence. If there was ever a time to sell him it would have been in January, but I think if we sell him now he could really haunt us in the future.

I'm disappointed in him if this is really as whiny as it looks. The vast majority of his problems here have been his own fault. We broke transfer records to sign him, paid him a fortune and fulfilled his desire of winning trophies - all in his first full season here. He hasn't performed, but despite that the fans have supported him fully at games. He's started looking more like the striker we bought towards the end of the season, but a hattrick against QPR was never going to be enough to prove you should start against Munich. Too little too late, if you will.

How hostile have you all turned towards one of our players on a rumour that's probably made up? Have a word with yourselves. Lest we forget without that corner Drogba doesn't score, who won the corner? Oh yeah it was that guy someone told so gracefully to "F**k off Nando". So many people on here want to jump on Torres back at every chance.

has kalou showed that much more to start ahead of torres?

Kalou is a winger, Torres is a striker. You expect RDM to start a striker out of position and hope he fully understands how to support his fullback and track one of the best wingers in the world in Ribery so our right flank isn't torn to pieces? Kalou did it against Napoli and Barca so I absolutely trust him to do it. We went out there to defend.

Thank God I remember how many Chelsea-supporters who wanted Drogba out the first season when all he did was complain, miss chances and dive to the ground. "Fcuk off Nando"? Is that the way to talk to one of our players? The final was almost over when Torres managed a thing that the other Chelsea-players hadn't for 85 minutes; pass a man and create a corner. He volunteered to take a penalty, for Gods sake! He wants to make things up for the "hassle" he has created in Chelsea. I would have been furious if he were to deny a penalty like Anelka (or the Bayern players), but that's not the case.

He left the un-friendliest club in the world only to come to us and win trophies and play. The man was Atleticos captain as a 20 year old!

Some of you needs to get a grip on yourselves. He is no Bogarde who take part in celebrations or complain without playing; in fact I'm surprised he has been quiet all season! Go and buy Falcao and re-sign Drogba and see how our new guy reacts when he gets dumped in the important matches. I really do think that some of you would look back and say: "hey, maybe Torres wasn't that whiny after all..."

I think we should start playing with two strikers instead of one. That would make room for Torres and I also think it will help him score more goals.
