January 5, 201313 yr Have to ask: which record did he break by scoring today and which ones is he still chasing in terms of scoring? Wasn't it most goals by a Chelsea player in the FA Cup?
January 5, 201313 yr Have to ask: which record did he break by scoring today and which ones is he still chasing in terms of scoring?Wasn't it most goals by a Chelsea player in the FA Cup? He actually equalled Bobby Tambling's record of 25 FA Cup goals for Chelsea.
January 6, 201313 yr Can someone perhaps make a list of the records he's chasing, with the amount of goals he's scored and what the record is? Would be fun to keep track of that.
January 6, 201313 yr If you compare Lamps to his nemesis (aka Gerrard) then you would have to agree Lamps is influencing his respective team in a far more positive way right now. Both players have been closely compared throughout their careers but in their twilight years Lamps definitely has the edge.

The one he is trying to break is Chelsea's all time leading goal scorer record. Bobby Tambling is currently leading with a total of 202 goals for Chelsea. Kerry Dixon and Frank Lampard are currently level on 193 goals for Chelsea. If Super Frank nets ten more goals in his Chelsea career, he will be come the club's all time leading goal scorer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chelsea_F.C._records_and_statistics#Goalscorers

He was fantastic on the weekend.
January 6, 201313 yr I was just thinking about the way some people baulked when we paid £11m for him all those years ago. Then the way he struggled to fit into Ranieri's system in his first season. What an incredible player and man he is.

He's already got the record for being the only player to have scored ten goals or more in nine consecutive Premier League seasons, but he would need just four goals this season to make it ten consecutive seasons. 10+ in 10 would sound good.
January 6, 201313 yr Rumours going around that Chelsea have opened talks with Frank about a new contract. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/chelsea-may-keep-lampard-after-all-8439781.html Edited January 6, 201313 yr by JoeyN

Frank is nearest and he's still over 200 behind.
January 6, 201313 yr Reading through that, I wonder if anyone will ever beat Chopper's appearance record (795). Frank is nearest and he's still over 200 behind. I seriously doubt that. He had such a long career and back then there were more regular league matches in a season. Then again, we regularly play in Europe now, but still I doubt anyone will get even close to that. I mean, doesn't Frank have some sort of record for most consecutive appearances (outfield players) in the Premier League era and he's still so much behind Chopper.

Yeah, he joined us when he was 22 and still over 200 behind. So he would of had to have a cemented place in our first team by the age of 18 to really stand a chance.
January 12, 201313 yr #SIGNHIMUP #SIGNHIMUP Lampard was head and shoulders above today and shows why he MUST be signed up. It's games like that when you need players like him who know how to tough it out... f**king brilliant Frank!!! Legend
January 12, 201313 yr Author ^ Was the 2nd given to him? Nope! I meant number 2 in the goal scoring ranks! He played superbly today, what a guy. SIGN HIM UP FFS
January 13, 201313 yr Frank's quality shone through like a beacon yesterday. With all the exuberant youngsters running about around him he was like a conductor at the last night at the proms orchestrating from midfield. His experience at the top level cannot be emphasised more. His professional attitude to training can only rub off on the new breed of Chelsea player and the way he plays likewise. To 'give' this quality of player away will be the biggest mistake of the Abromovitch era. He may well come back to haunt us for one as this is one Chelsea player that has 2-3 years at the very top in front of him. I hate to harp on about it but him combing with Van Persie at United will give them the title for the next 3 years and dare I say it more chance of them winning the European Cup. Fergie is the master of conserving energy for older players and picking them at the right time. Lampard is willing to stay at Chelsea and have reduced playing time, he knows more than anyone there is times when he shouldn't play even if as a committed pro he doesn't admit it. This is all about a 2yr contract to a Chelsea Legend , a player loved and admired by it's fans and respected by every player and manager in the world. He will beat Bobby Tambling's record and I believe it will stand forever in the Chelsea record books. For a midfield player who came here with the reputation of 'Fat Frank who his relations only pick him for West Ham's first team' it is simply astonishing and testiment to the blokes mindset, quality and commitment to succeed. The fans have to act here. They must protest and demand he gets a new deal. Choruses of 'You don't know what your doing' must be aimed at the Chelsea board and above all Roman should hear our voices. I say the 10 minute interval at every match should be support for Frankie - it will not detract from team performance and it will drown out the dreaded Neil Barnett at home games !
January 13, 201313 yr A chant in the crowds will do nothing Star...Fans have no say in how the club is run nowadays..

I already felt really dirty about it, but after reading this i'm just downright depressed.
