Funny how the media narrative about Lampard has changed this season, he never used to get the credit he deserved. Now that this contract situation is out in the open he's getting praise heaped on him left right and centre and his flaws are overlooked.

That's come out a bit negative, I don't mean it to be, just an observation.

An absolute legend. So proud to be there when he scored his 200th goal.

Loved that he headed straight over to JT to celebrate.

What a reception he got from the ground.

I'm so confused, I thought it was three more to be the all time top scorer, match of the day said two?

Its three, two more gets him the tie...

I said to my old man at the weekend I would love to see him get the record, I was going to games very frequently when signed (still in my teens) and so I have watched his whole Chelsea career and have seen him score every single one of his 200 goals.

 

He has been a fantastic servant for the club and it would be great for me to see a player break that record, especially a midfielder.

 

I'm going to miss him when he's gone. 

Probably the best moment of the match was Frank Lampard’s header, his 200 goal as a Blue! It’s amazing! Congratulations to him, here it is my respect and admiration for a team mate that is a living legend of our club, and of European football. 200 times Frank Lampard!

It couldn't have been scripted any better, a goal from open play, the shed end, right in front of the spiteful bar stewards who have given him so much grief over the years.

1. Does anyone think the fans can do anything to stop him leaving?.. Protests outside the ground etc, just a thought.

We can't change the clubs decision to allow him to leave no.

 

He's the only one who can change their minds if he continues to play well but I think the choice to allow him to leave goes beyond what he does on the pitch, rightly or wrongly I think the board has made their minds up.

 

 

For sure the club will do the usual Chelsea TV segment showing all his goals, articles on the website etc.

 

But what more can they actually do other than thank him for his service to the club?

It's one of those meaningless stats again, but I noticed that both goal #100 and goal #200 were assisted by Chelsea's #17. #100 by Scott Sinclair and #200 by Eden Hazard.

According to the FSW Frank has already done it QUOTE FSW "He has broken a great record and hopefully can score more goals."

And i honestly thought that notepad hes always writing in was his refresher GCSE Math apparently not.

Anyways Frank we salute you Sir two more to break even three more to hold a record that i doubt ill ever see broken.

Fantastic, nice to see him give Eden some praise at the end too.  Frank is such a selfless individual in all of his interviews, it is great to see.

 

Also, I  heard they had a word with Hazard afterwards and he said he had nothing but Respect for Frank.
