Chelsea lodge Clattenburg complaint

Featured Replies

Apparently we have lodged a complaint over inappropriate language used by clattenberg towards 2 of our players in today's game. This could be interesting.

What defines "inappropriate"?

Cos I'm pretty sure Torres told him to f**k off when he sent him off, so we can't really complain if he did similar.

According to Telegraph it`s racism.

Yeah just seen that on Twitter. Can't image it will amount to much... Except a couple more bad decisions he'll make against us in future because of it. Hope we're not cutting our noses off to spite our face.

Verdict, No action necessary as it is a Chelsea complaint, any more complaints ban Terry for a further eight weeks, problem solved.

Because of how ridiculous the last couple months have been this wouldn't even surprise me.

Sure we can, don't you think the ref should be held to a higher standard than the players? Even if you don't and feel they're both in the wrong, one doesn't excuse the other.

With that said, if there's racism involved, it's on a whole different level, which will make it all the more infuriating after our complaint is predictably ignored.

In theory, yes. But if you've got a lot of gobby footballers swearing at you all game, it's only human nature to want to have a go back.

Anyway, I can't find anything about racism on The Telegraph's website. So I'm just assuming it's talking about swearing or similar.

I saw one rumour that had him saying "You're not winning today you f**k w**kers."

Nothing will happen. The FA will back him all the way and punish Chelsea for something or other. It's just the way it works.

I hope it's not something like 'yeah well you smell, so ner'.

What, in all seriousness, would justify a complaint? Racism, homophobic remarks, sexism...? Unless there was a personal dig at someone's private life but then again JT wasn't on the pitch. Would we have upset two players?

What else could make us raise a complaint? I'm sure players get told they dived, deserved a card, made a bad tackle, time wasted etc all the time. It will be interesting to hear what it is, if we ever do.

Lip reading experts - where are you?

To be honest, the more I read about this, the more I think it's just sour grapes.

Unless it's racism or extremely offensive, it's not really worth mentioning. If it's just "f**k off" or something similar, it's an overreaction.

Alas, that's what I think. One part of me hopes I'm very wrong and that something serious was said... On the other hand I don't want our players to have been on the end of extremely abusive behaviour from an official.

Yeah we cannot complain that the ref was useless, more or less an "on the take" as we will then get a charge from the FA. However we can complain this way. What it seems like to me.

After all that Chelsea have been through in the last year, I can't believe they would have taken a decision like this lightly, or without consulting their lawyers.

Yep, horrible if our players have been abused by an official who is supposed to be impartial, however it would be extremely interesting to see how the FA were to deal with a racism case against a Chelsea player. One big mess.

Quite right, especially when one takes into account the UK's absurd libel laws.

I would agree with this. If it's not serious then we should leave it. Will be interesting to find out exactly what was said.

f**k that, hang him out too dry, he's a twat and a horrendous referee, of course the ref should be held to a higher regard than the players, it's like a police officer running about shouting and swearing and kicking sh*t out of the public, they're expected to be better than that. As is a ref, hope Clattentart gets hammered for this.

Yeah hope they take this seriously
