I think it's the right decision, I'd hate Cech to leave though!

I wonder if Courtois could have done more with Burnley's goal. I think his vision was obscured hence him barely even moving for it, if he had a clear view i'd hope he at least gets close to that shot though.

 

Seems like an end of an era for Cech.

Commanded the area well tonight and made a good save early in the second half.

Be interesting if he continues in the next game but I don't think he did anything to warrant being dropped.

More commanding in the air than Cech although possibly slightly worse distribution. Not being commanding in the air leads to shipped goals while we merely lose possession more often with worse distribution. I'll take Courtois in goal

He did well, especially in the conditions which aren't great for keepers. His kicking was a bit off but he is usually better from what I've seen.

Both wonderful, top keepers ... but Courtois is the future. Therefore, the time has come to take the plunge ... even tho' it's still a flip of a coin ...

Ideally, I'd want to keep them both for this season, if at all possible?

How about Courtois gets the Prem and FA cup games and Cech Champions League & League cup games ???

Sad seeing Cech on the bench, really sad. Although Jose was saying all the right things about wanting Cech to stay, it felt clear that he expected him to leave.

Courtious did well I thought. His kicking was slightly off but I thought there was a few misplaced and dodgy touches from everyone.

Hopefully Cech stays, but he'll definitely want to be first on the team sheet and not sure he'll get that this season

You can't just drop a keeper for nothing and rotating them every match isn't going to settle a defence.

Its pointless trying to keep them both happy because he cant its impossible. We will have 2 unhappy keepers instead of one if Mourinho rotated them.

Looks like cech is on his way out after hearing jose after the game. Basically said if a team came in for him he wouldn't stand in his way. I'd be amazed if no club came in for him after hearing that

Jose will be selling Cech. Emphasising his point that Cech is one of the top 3 keepers in the world.

Lets face it, I think Jose knows that he can't keep both happy. But if he comes out and tells the world that then Cech's price suddenly plummets, because people know we need to sell. Cech will be gone soon. (Wow that's really sad to type)

I want to see Cech gone. It was hard to see him sitting on the bench today, it will be even harder to watch him waste a prolonged period of time waiting for the league cup games or Courtois to get injured. He deserves much better than that.

Seems like one of the nicest blokes in the squad, and I hope he enjoys wherever he wants to go (and he will surely be a starter at a top club).

In my opinion (as mentioned earlier) Cech will rightfully get the opener at Stamford Bridge and then we will see a five year deal signed by Courtois and Cech moving on to what I hope is another top club. He deserves a spot on a top club and hopefully that club has some good history in competing.

I have to agree it would be nice if Cech got to play this weekend before leaving, to have him, Frank and Ash all leaving in one summer without any getting a proper goodbye would be sad.

I was actually sort of devastated when the team news came out.

 

I had expected it, i even called for it earlier in the summer but it was so weird not seeing Big Petr Cech in goal...... I hope he's given every ounce of respect he deserves.
