He's the best young striker in the world imo assuming you don't count Neymar as a striker. Definitely a notch above Harry Kane based on this season. Think he has more potential than Kane too. The guy I see with the most potential though is Martial.

So, you've done your homework and named quite a few players most of them significantly older or not playing in the same position as Lukaku. Still, if this was all true, it means that Lukaku was such a great talent that you can't let it slip through your fingers. I mean you are actually naming a player who was sold for a one of the highest fees in world football as an example for a player who is better than Lukaku.

That was the entire basis for the topic. Lukaku is the best attacking talent of any 20-24 year old. Right? Or do you mean 22 and under?

I know we got decent money for him but Everton will get even better money for him when he moves on, Don;t expect that will be long as he'll be pissed he is doing his job in scoring the goals but they are not winning due to conceding so many goals. Fair play to Stoke today though - 4 goals away from home, sounded like an absolute cracker of a game.

^ He is 22 & will iron most of this issues out as he gains more experience, Drogba was no where at his level at that age. You can't argue that selling him wasn't short sighted, he will probably end up at UTD or City next season.

yes but surely that was because he was loaned out and never played, a bit of first team action and he could of been here banging the goals in today

Of course he asked to leave because he wasnt playing often but HE asked to leave, we werent trying to move him on. So what if we kept him? Would he be the same player? What if he hadnt developed as much here?

He was ambitious and needed to play. Jose should have given him a chance, we spent £18m on him in the first place so there must have been something there.

He didn't ask to leave as he wasn't going to play, he wanted to be guaranteed first choice, which was something we couldn't offer. He was however seemingly inline to being a first choice contender and it looked like he was going to be given plenty of opportunities but we couldn't guarantee that he would start every game, which is something he needed and he seemingly has been reaping the rewards for that now. Fair play to him he has gone on to become one of the best strikers in the league probably in the top 3, hopefully he still some feeling towards Chelsea as I would love to have him back maybe to take over form Costa in a year or 2.  

It's actually Romans fault for wasting £50m on Torres and putting pressure (silent or spoken) on manager after manager to play him, therefore restricting opportunities for Lukaku and Sturridge for that matter
