I personally give JM the benefit of the doubt. Ivanovic is awful, but if Baba is even worse then play Ivanovic, simple as that.

Ivanovic is one of the worst defenders in the Premiership now with more than half of Chelsea's goals conceded directly attributable to him. If that doesn't warrant changes whether it's Baba Rahman, Ola or some other player stepping in, then you are just making excuses for Mourinho.

 I know Ivanovic is a seasoned player and some say a legend(not me personally) but even if he turns his form around I think he's done.The latest wing wizard to make him look like a rookie Tadic ffs was having fun against 'our best right back'. How much worse does he have to perform ? this latest pearler about baba being too short really calls mourinho's credibility into question for me,and let's not start the 'he sees them all at training crap either. I can live with Mourinho fan boyism as he has at least justified needing a bit of time to get things right due to his accomplishments. What I find idiotic is defending the indefensible ie don't drop Ivanovic because his replacement could be worse. There isn't a worst full back in the Premiership now than Ivanovic. He's done at Chelsea and should be dumped into the reserves where he can sit until his contract expires.

The Ivanovic saga made me remember an episode of the Simpson. Homer is the coach of the school football team, dropped the all mighty Nelson and put up Bart, team started to lose because Bart sucked. Everyone complained, Homer ignored them, bad results keep coming , in the end even Bart decided to bench himself to avoid further embarrassment and help the team. So here came the big moment, Nelson's name is finally called by Homer, send this note to the referee, we will forfeit the game, we can't play without our Start 1/4 back - Bart! There maybe a bit of Homer in everyone, even Jose!

Im not gonna pretend to know alot about Baba, as I have no clue, but I can talk on Ivanovic.

 

What an absolute fall from grace, although apart from his goal scoring touch, his general attacking movement and crossing has always been horrible, his defensive quality just seems to have dissappeared suddenly and for that we are suffering. He has not been helped with Pedro playing on the right not giving him the cover Willian gave so frequently last year, but still he is woefully off form.

 

Dropping Ivanovic is important, if Jose does not trust Baba then go 3 players at the back with Ramires and Willian as deep lying wingers / wing backs. Anything is better then having every tom, dick and harry choosing to target and dismantle us through Ivanovic.

As horrible as it is to say about a Chelsea player, how many of us on here are hoping it is something that keeps him out for a month or two? Long enough for Baba to get a run.

Ok I'm gonna seem like an absolute cretin for being happy at one of our players getting injured, but we certainly needed this. I think Ivan needed this too, a few weeks on the sidelines won't hurt, and it may help in getting his confidence back.

What can i say... this is possibly Mourinho's saving grace. Not sure the Matic injury is a good thing (who are we going to replace him with)? But maybe Papy and Baba will get a fair shot now?

We have conceded 15 chances down the left, the best in the league and 38 chances down the right, the second worst in the league. 

 

If we're going to concede a couple more goals from set pieces because Ivanovic is not playing, I'll still take it. Get Baba on.

How awkward is it going to be when hes only out a for a week.
