May 23, 201610 yr Hordor I find myself wondering whether GRRM had that rationale in mind from the very first book. I love the concept that something that happened years later caused the Hodor change that happened years earlier.

The Lord of Light sent a message to both Tyrion and Vaerys. When the two met Kinvara, not only did she know what Tyrion and Vaerys wanted, but could tell Vaerys all about his past too.

May 23, 201610 yr Exactly! now I want to know what Vaerys was told when the unfortunate incident took place - he seemed to shutter when Kinvara asked him if he remember or did he need his memory refreshed
May 24, 201610 yr SPOILER ALERT!!!! - Do I even need to put that? Probably shouldn't be coming anywhere near this thread unless you're fully watched up. Anyway...... How the hell are Bran and Meera meant to escape? Whilst big H is being dealt with, they must have got all of 200 yards away. When she was screaming hold the door, I turned to the wife and said 'how long is he supposed to hold it for, a week?'

When she was screaming hold the door, I turned to the wife and said 'how long is he supposed to hold it for, a week?' I think the wights are short sited. They won't be able to see through the blizzard. Also, the synopsis for the next episode suggests we'll be seeing someone we haven't seen in a while next episode. Benjen to the rescue?
May 24, 201610 yr so basically hodor turned into hodor because he foresaw that future scene when he was young? i also thought they could of done a much better job with the demise of summer, he went down like a yelping pup !!
May 24, 201610 yr I am so sick and tired of seeing dire wolves get taken down...As for Hodor I was more upset about him than I was over the red wedding...Also will he turn into an undead if his body isn't burned ? Scary prospect.

May 24, 201610 yr Am I the only one who didn't really care that much about Hodor? I mean, it was sad and all, but he was a bit of a minimalist character wasn't he? He was basically a horse for Bran haha. Questions 1. Why is Bran so important to the White Walkers? Does his ability to warg threaten them to the very core? I am guessing he can go back in time and maybe stop the dagger going in to the first white walker, thereby stopping their creation? 2. How can they find him after touching him when he is warging? 3. Is time travel going to be a major player in the story line now? Seems so ! 4. What is the point of the many faced God?
May 24, 201610 yr Characters are dropping so often now it doesn't pack as much of a punch. One an episode these days basically.

I was much more upset when the Hound appeared to die, and am still convinced/hoping that he will return! You ask some very good questions, there! As to question 4 - what is the point of any god? Does his many-facedness mean that we each make a god to suit our own agenda?
May 24, 201610 yr Am I right in thinking that Season 6 has now surpassed the main storyline of the published books? Therefore, should this season's remit really be a filler / build up to the events of the next book...........if GGRM ever finishes the damn book?
May 24, 201610 yr I thought it was one of the best episodes of the series. Max von Sydow can make a sleeping old man seem riveting. Hold the door

Therefore, should this season's remit really be a filler / build up to the events of the next book...........if GGRM ever finishes the damn book? It has yes. I also read that the producers have quite a free reign on storylines too. Will he then have to write to match the series' ??
May 24, 201610 yr Really hate Bran. Wish he'd landed on his head when he fell from that tower. Bran's main fault is the fact he doesn't listen:

The next books will differ from HBO's storyline. It was already quite different anyway, loads of characters and plots are missing from the series.
May 24, 201610 yr i can see the series actually finishing before the last books are released. If the writers of the series do not have some sort of guide line from george rr martin, then they would be basically now making up their own story? I personally think he has had the last books written for a while now and lets them know enough to keep it on some sort of track

Oh, and GRRM strongly disagrees with you: http://grrm.livejournal.com/487298.html?thread=24450690 check the comments ;)

May 25, 201610 yr Saddest death yet, probably because he seemed to be one of the only unblemished characters left. Edited May 25, 201610 yr by RichardCFC
