Ive got a few of these old news headlines saved, must see if i can upload more. They make for interesting reading, certainly the language used seems a lot more to the point nowadays, a lot of these old headlines were actually quite relaxed and almost chatty.

I discovered a big stack of CFC-related newspaper cuttings the other day from 2003-5, alot of it from Jose's first year at Chelsea. I am going to try to scan them in full and put them somewhere.

Lampard is an all rounder in midfield terms, can tackle, pass, get back to defend and get forward to score goals.

Meanwhile Colin Hutchinson briefly spoke about other transfer rumours. Firstly on Geremi from Real Madrid Hutchinson said "It seems the player and you (the press) know more about it than we do, he is a player we have had watched but it's gone no further than that."

I've been critical of ol' 'Arry in the past but I've got to say his belief and backing of Frank in that clip was bang on.

I can hold my hands up and admit at the time I thought we had massively over paid for an average player. I was so wrong, so so wrong. And it's why I refuse to prejudge any new signings.

Great thread, I actually had a row in the childrens ward of a hospital after a spammer called him a traitor. He ended up agreeing with me when I pointed out that the east end is supposed to be built on family loyality and his club had sacked his dad and uncle. At the time I was so gutted to see Dennis wise leave but having seen Lampard play for the U21's knew he was quality. Must say I never expected him to turn out like he did, probably our best ever signing. Long may it continue!

Great post mate, sums up west ham fans really, what they know about football you could write on the back of a postage stamp. Also when we were looking for an interim manager why not uncle Harry? surely a better option then the one we took! Dodgy roll neck Frank, lol!
