November 26, 201312 yr He hasn't even slagged off Mikel, even brought up some decent points at times. Don't see the problem myself apart from it being discussed in the wrong thread.
November 26, 201312 yr Author i would have done it to several referees and not stopped at the threat. but you can't say he's "never been one ounce of trouble since he signed for us, never...besmirched Chelsea's name" when he did that. Personally, I've never been a huge admirer of Mikel, like a lot on here. We are limited in our midfield options, severely limited, and even then, Mikel is used sparingly. I think Jose is fully aware of his weaknesses and will be looking to bolster this area in the window. Mikel is certainly not a bad player but he doesn't do enough, neither with the ball or without the ball. Essien apart, the three Jose used in midfield on Saturday are his only midfielders. He obviously felt he needed the extra body in that part of the pitch and he obviously felt having somebody sitting would allow Ramires and Lampard to play their natural game. However I believe Jose would like somebody better in that DM position and I believe he will make getting that player his priority.
November 26, 201312 yr I've just had another look on here to see what all the requotes are about and seen that the same old discussion about Mikel has been turned into a tetchy argumentative thread by the usual suspect. What is it about discussing football on a forum that makes you want to keep coming across so overly antagonistic? I couldn't care less that we all have our personel feelings on Mikel or any other player and discussing it is what the forums all about but the condesending way TOTT debates makes it a f**king miserable place to have a debate. I know I'm biased on two counts, one because I got into a pointless argument with him or you if you're reading this where I had a different opinion and actually couldn't get to the bottom of what the argument was about and two because I can't stand Andy Townsend. Now I look on and see decent posters giving their opinions just to have a load of quotes supposedly proving every thing they post has somehow tripped up their arguments. Why can't you give your opinion and be happy with that? face it that not everyone shares it and get on with being part of a discussion forum? Nothing to do with who I think is right about Mikel as I think as Jose says, its horses for courses but surely a bit more respect for other posters would be better all round. November 26, 201312 yr Mikel is the human equivalent of Marmite. Can't agree because with marmite the people that don't like it don't go around telling everyone how sh*t it is and that you are an idiot if you do like it.
November 26, 201312 yr Why can't you give your opinion and be happy with that? face it that not everyone shares it and get on with being part of a discussion forum? i'm fine with not everyone sharing my opinion. said it numerous times. this discussion wasn't actually about my opinion though. I know I'm biased on two counts, one because I got into a pointless argument with him or you if you're reading this where I had a different opinion and actually couldn't get to the bottom of what the argument was about tbh i don't even remember this. if you're still caught up on it and taking it personally that says a lot about you.
November 26, 201312 yr Can't agree because with marmite the people that don't like it don't go around telling everyone how sh*t it is and that you are an idiot if you do like it. no-one said mikel was "sh*t" and no-one called anyone an "idiot" for "liking" him. drama queen.

November 26, 201312 yr I think Mikel is our best player, He scores when he wants, his corner taking and free kicks are superb. I remember him deputising in goal a couple of times and he was brilliant. His speed when getting down the wing is far superior to any other option we have. His leadership qualities when organising the defense are also worth noting. He has been a constant starter under Jose in both his spells as manager here. Without Mikel our trophy cabinet only have an astray and an old exchange & mart in it. i'm fine with not everyone sharing my opinion. said it numerous times. this discussion wasn't actually about my opinion though. tbh i don't even remember this. if you're still caught up on it and taking it personally that says a lot about you. Again you try to bring the worst out of people with a sly little dig...not necessary at all. Your requoting people really doesn't make you look impressive or knowledgable, I really can't imagine why you want to come on and cause bad feeling with people rather than just giving and respecting opinions. (Not sure all these facts are correct so hope they don't get reposted)
November 26, 201312 yr no-one said mikel was "sh*t" and no-one called anyone an "idiot" for "liking" him. drama queen Oh my, I didn't refer to you in my post did I? Getting a bit touchy aren't we old bean. Here's a picture of Mikel to cheer you up.
November 26, 201312 yr Again you try to bring the worst out of people with a sly little dig...not necessary at all. nothing sly about it. if you are still bothered by a conversation i can't even remember, a disagreement on the internet; then you have issues. and seeing as how you did a whole post "slagging me off" (as they like to say around here), a "sly dig" is probably restrained. Your requoting people really doesn't make you look impressive or knowledgable, I really can't imagine why you want to come on and cause bad feeling with people rather than just giving and respecting opinions. i respect opinions. i don't respect faulty premises. you're entitled to your opinion...but i can question how you got there. edit. if the "opinions" on this thread were along the lines of "i really rate mikel, i watch him play and i think he is good" then i would have no issue with that. what i have issue with is people going "he's good enough for jose, so he's good enough for me", "our managers always pick him, especially for the bigger games", "he is first choice under every manager so he must be good", "he starts most games and that's why i trust managers over fans", "if he were poor he wouldn't get games" etc. that's horsesh*t, not an opinion. November 26, 201312 yr Oh my, I didn't refer to you in my post did I? hence why i said "no-one" and not "i". because i was referring to the complete absence of what you said...not just the absence of it in my posts. you have to be a troll.

I have got issues but they really don't involve conversations with people on a forum that you wouldn't talk to in a pub. perhaps you're memory isn't great as it was only a few weeks ago and what sticks in my mind was that I couldn't work out the real reason for the argument...I put it down to you just being the sort that gets on the net to argue with people, so far I'd say I was pretty much spot on. Calling people drama queens and keep rehashing posts really isn't necessary but if it makes you feel good then I suppose thats up to you, I just thought I 'd stick my oar in and try to get you to be a bit more respectful in your debates. November 26, 201312 yr perhaps you're memory isn't great as it was only a few weeks ago and what sticks in my mind was that I couldn't work out the real reason for the argument... the reason chelsea fans booed townsend afer he left? surely that was actually a few months ago...not a few weeks? is it really still bothering you? seems like yesterday? get out more dude. seriously. edit. no...wait...you were the guy who i disagreed with about the torres face scratch thing...and you kept on posting, saying nothing, cos you wanted the last word? dude...that was still a couple of months ago. get over it. I just thought I 'd stick my oar in and try to get you to be a bit more respectful in your debates. re; this. i was actually being perfectly civil, until i was repeatedly insulted by other posters (feel free to go back and check). did you "stick your oar in" and remind them to be "more respectful"? no. cos you've got a chip on your shoulder over some months old argument that i can barely remember. I really couldn't give a toss what it was over but it started over our opinions differing on the Torres face scratch in the Tottenham game, I thought he could have got sent off and you thought he couldn't basically. It then went into some sort of debate where with no real positive answer either way it was all about opinions and needed as this one does, dropping. Then and now your retorts were overly tetchy and the reason it sticks in my memeory. Dude. Edited November 26, 201312 yr by Chippy

Dude. you've held this grudge, over a silly argument on the internet, for that long? 2 months later and it still eats you up that you didn't get the last word? do you want it now? edit. i see your presence in this thread has had the same effect as your argument that day...to make it a personal attack on me and veer wildly off topic. if you would like to continue insulting me, and disregarding the topic of the thread, perhaps pm me...that goes for anyone else who simply wants to "slag me off" as well. thanks. I've not held a grudge, I've seen a lot of your posts without adding anything until I saw the antagonistic approach you upheld in this thread and it reminded me of the same basically unnecessary argument we had back then. If you're taking the moral high ground and giving me the last word then thats big of you but very unlikely.
November 26, 201312 yr You racist! lolCareful, back page of the mirror will now be "Chelsea forum in racism disgrace"
November 26, 201312 yr really? never? the guy who burst into the referees dressing room and threatened to break his legs? You seem to be disgruntled because your have been brought to task over a couple of things, so I guessing here, but if your birthrite and skin complexion was questioned I would believe you would be none too happy, and act accordingly similar to how Mikel reacted. The club backed Mikel 100%. Edited November 26, 201312 yr by mbh
November 26, 201312 yr The club backed Mikel 100%. not really. we backed him over the allegation (although i don't personally think we did so 100%) but i honestly don't believe the club backed him storming the referees dressing room & threatening to break his legs. defended him? yeah. claimed mitigation? for sure. but backed him? no. and the club's name was definitely dragged through the mud, whether you, or anyone, believe he was right or wrong.
