well here it is looming again...for me and people like minded, one of our very important matches and venues...This one at the moment gives me a heap of worry...Are we good enough at present to go there and win..Is a draw a good result considering spurs are reasonably good this season..Of course also, will they tame us...Ok so its in the lap of the gods as football is a very strange game. Will be in block 36 row 13 seat 148 if anyone wants to buy me a flagon of beer..Or punch me in the head.....One thing is for sure...Im expecting our players to pull out all the stops to beat the filth...I also expect every Blue to sing till theyre raw......Daughter is meeting her mates at Liverpol street for brekkie while i make my way to the tottenham high rd...I want to go super early as i used to live not far away in walthamstow....A nostalgia visit too..I did attend tottenham tech college for 2 years, and of course used to use samanthas night club as well as the wonderfull Tottenham Royal that saw some of my younghood.......Is it saturday yet....Couldnt seem to edit at source so............SPURS v CHELSEA    saturday 28th sept 2013.......@ 12 45 .......................

Ignore this - I didn't read far enough on the calendar (which is backwards!)

Mike - can you put the date and time on the title please, if it;s not too late for you to edit.

Gonna be some game this.

They are a very attacking side and they are two points above us and joint top.

The Willian affair adds some extra spice, as does Jose versus AVB.

Going to be a very hostile atmosphere.

We will need some cool heads ..

I'm available Jose if you want me.

Yeh sorry moi

I was living in ignorant bliss until I started reading this thread. Now I'm not only facing a nasty week at work, but also anxious about the match. Sigh, fast forward please!

City used United to hit some form, this is our opportunity.  We have a great record at WHL, Mourinho was winning leagues while AVB was in charge of getting the coffee, and we all hate Spurs!  This is one of those flashpoint games that can turn fortunes and I hope the players are well up for it.

-------------- Cech --------------

Ivanovic - Luiz - Terry - Cole

----- Ramires ---- Mikel ------

Willian ---- Oscar ---- Hazard

-------------- Eto'o --------------

He'll probably start Cahill over Luiz (can't argue) and Schurrle for Willian.  But I think we can all agree Willian is going to feature at some point.  I hope as many of this bunch as possible are rested midweek to give others struggling to get a game an opportunity.  I don't think Jose would do it, but I'd rather KDB over Hazard at the moment.  He was brilliant in our early games and looked good in the little time he got when he came on.  Hazard hasn't been at the races lately, but he's been a nailed on starter.

^ Only 3 points will do can't keep dropping points to top 6 teams, determines where you end up come end of the season and we have 1 point out of 3 at present.

I think we should line up

-------------- Cech --------------

Ivanovic - Cahill - Terry - Cole

----- Ramires ----- Mikel ------

Willian ---- Oscar ---- Hazard

-------------- Torres --------------

This.

Willian is going to score here, can just feel it.

It's either going to be a draw or a narrow Chelsea win.

Luckily for us Tottenham are away to Villa on Tuesday night and I suspect they will take the LC seriously, though of course they will make changes.

Does anyone know if the ties go to extra-time in this round?

Last season we had a fantastic win in a game I was lucky enough to be at, sitting with the Chelsea fans cheering and jeering. "You'll never sing our song". We were a bit lucky in that Bale and Dembele were missing in that game. In retrospect that was the highpoint for most of the season and certainly for RDM as only a month later he was on the way out.

Roll on 12 months and things are a lot different.

Despite the win against Fulham I'm not convinced Chelsea is a happy place. Publicly slagging off Mata humiliating him by saying he'll be selected against Swindon and dropping him and Luiz from the squad is gunna do something to morale. It just will.

On the other hand Spurs have yet to settle as a new team.

I can't see too many changes from the Fulham starting 11.

KDB did put in a beautiful effective pass against Fulham when he was on. Hazard's been running back and forth across the park but has not penetrated forward. Would I pick KDB over Hazard? Probably not but I could bring him on at half time. Mikel made over 90% succesful passes but few that counted.

For striker I might give Eto another go at least for 50 minutes. He seemed to be looking increasingly sharp against Fulham with some neat turns.

The game will likely be more open than many we have see for a while.

One thing's for sure if we don't at least draw we will be starting to drop off the pace in the league.

I would love to see KDB start and prove his worth (whatever game it is). I don't think people realise how good he actually he is.

We cannot be a team that plays for a tie, ever. Did Ferguson ever play for a tie?

Tottenham are garbage. AVB is a closet homo and wants to buttf**k his players. We can shut them down and make them suffer.

I really should shut my mouth but cant....It was either here or the rant thread, so here it will be......Im aware its happened many times but the embarassment is eating away at me...Spurs v us.......Fans going to meet en masse at Liverpool street......Yep ok thus far...So i was talking to a fan who is doing this then this is what he said........Few of us are drinking at Liverpool street for an hour before we get our police escort to S..H..L.......I said why dont we go closer to the ground for a couple then no police escort will be wanted...THEN HE SAYS.......Well we need an escort coz spurs fans will kick off otherwise.....F@@@ you W@@@@@ Chelsea F@@@@@@@ go to leyton orient..;;..//''''[[........,,,,llll

Spurs aren't exactly free scoring as yet, I think it's a good opportunity to play them before all the new signings fully settle.

Willian has got to start hasn't he!

Always look forward to these games, I'm expecting us to line up something like:

                Cech

Ivan - Cahill - Terry - Cole

     Ramires - Lampard

   Willian - Oscar - Hazard

                Eto'o

I think the game will be won or lost in the midfield, not sure Lampard/Ramires is the best partnership but I imagine Jose will put his faith in Frank to deliver the goods, personally on current form I would put Mikel in there.

AVB isn't going to sit back against us, it's not in his nature so I think there is going to be space to exploit on the counter attack which might just suit Mourinho despite his saying about being pro-active not reactive... It might be an fashioned Chelsea performance for this one, soak up some pressure then smash and grab on the counter.

I agree Spurs will attack us which will play into our hands anyway.  AVB is pretty stubborn.  I'm not sure he'd set up to defend against Barca away.  Having flash backs of that high line already.

Playing away from home will suit us, im confident Spurs are struggling to score goals aswell.Mourinho wont want to let AVB beat him.Looking forward to this game and yes Willian needs to start i can see him scoring. Another 3 points at 3 point lane.

Really confident ahead of this game,i am usually expecting a good close game but i think we will win with AVB going all out to defeat us.Last seasons 2-4 will do the job for me really.
