Le Arse's quest

Featured Replies

Is it just me who cant see the North London Goons realistically lifting the Premier League Trophy come the end of the season? Ok sure they have performed way and beyond better than was expected of them this season, but and its a BIG BUT can they really finish higher than both us and that blue monster that keeps coming back for more from Manchester.

I think a lot will depend on injuries more so that the likes of ourselves and City. If Arsenal can keep their

back line in place I think they are in with a good shout. They're playing well and looking solid at the moment.

They've maintained their run a lot longer than I expected them to so who knows?

Next month is going to be key for them though they've got Liverpool away, Manchester United at home and then Bayern Munich in the Champions League within the space of 11 days.

Those three games could make or break their season and even then the following month they've got to play Bayern Munich, Spurs then us away back to back followed by a home match against Manchester City.

They have done well to get to the top at this stage but in my opinion they're second half of the season is a much bigger test.

Could anyone see us lift the premier league a few months ago?

Arsenal will be up there at the end of the season. Put your money on it.

I don't think they will but it's not unrealistic. It's not just this season where Arsenal have shown big improvements. Look at the second half of last season, the signs were there that they were on the up and not just a side that would keep fighting for a top 4 finish.

This transfer window is make-or-break time for us gooners. If we see the likes of Draxler, Gustavo join us, that's a game-changer right there. As long as we continue to rely on Giroud up front and the likes of Arteta in the middle, we're not going to win the league it's as simple as that. Arsenal have already identified the weaknesses in the team, let's see if something is actually done about it or we endure another trophyless season again. Ozil has solved our attacking midfield problems, no we need to solve the other two positions.

I think Giroud is treated really badly by the Arsenal fans. The sh*t he gets on Arsenal Mania is ridiculous. We don't even give Torres that much stick.

Great player. Was on fire at the start of the season. He's no Van Persie but he's a top player.

Giroud's name is sung pretty much every match he plays, criticism of him is loud only on cyberspace to be fair, he has earned respect amongst the vast majority of our fans but yes, it is true that some people don't like the type of striker he is (me included), the way he plays places a ridiculous level of burden on our attacking mids, he has back to goal on most of the play and also drops quite deep as he's very limited in his ability to beat an offside trap or run off the last defender. He clearly isn't an RVP type player or even Adebayor whose pace was very quick especially off the last man and on the break. Giroud's strength solely lies in winning the ball in the air and bringing attacking mids into play. In other areas, he's rather average. I love his work rate though, he gives everything.

Its almost lent, the time of year they usually give up trophies.

You would know.

How very dare you!

(I've internet access only on my mobile and porn on a mobile buggers your eyes up...someone told me that...I don't know that for a fact...errr...).

I must say they've kept this run going far longer than I expected, but it's going to be quite hard to keep it going until May with us and City in form, I think with Matic we might be genuine contenders if the strikers keep performing as average as ever, meaning they don't fall off completely.

Realistically thinking City should be far in front of even us right now but seeing that they are on par with us and le arse I think it's an open race from here, still think le arse will fall off at some point though.

It's rather fitting that you have Paddington Bear as your avatar I suppose seeing as you both have hairy palms.

I don't mind banter but Paddington would be upset if he knew what you meant. However he's a bear so no harm done this time.

There is absolutely no way, and I mean no way, that le Arse will win the title this year, and honestly i'd be surprised if they win it at all in the next 5 years unless they go on a large spending splurge. For me they still don't have a team of winners.

Arsenal are the real deal. They are still probably 3rd favourite for the title, but they are absolutely in the mix.

The 2014 critically acclaimed film...

..."Arse Quest - The tale of a Northern Englishman and his search of finding anal pleasures"

Don't worry I'm not being so vulgar, Colin Firth is the leading man.

They'll implode like always.

It's down to Manchester City and ourselves to fight it out for the title, and I honestly fancy Manchester City to win it.

It'll be close, but they'll get it.
