Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Ballack also said something like "I'm sure Chelsea a deal in place" and a smile on his face when talking about Costa. Sounds interesting.Pretty sure Costa is already sorted,

People who talk about Cavani in the same breath as Costa 'Are they for Real?'

I dont hink theres much difference between them, i must be imaginary

Mail has Monaco linked to him

Yep, apparently they've gone up to 40 mil too. This bothers me.

One thing I'm thinking here is that I hope we aren't about to pull another Rooney! Putting all our eggs into one basket, dropping it at the last second and spending another season deadlocked in a striker limbo.

I honestly think that given the choice he'd pick us over Monaco. He'd probably on lower wages but with a better chance of winning trophies and playing in a better league with a higher calibre of player and under a much better manager

Don't get me wrong I understand the lure of high wages but as a professional sportsman would you really want to me playing in front of crowds of under 5k for the majority of the season.

Not convinced it will happen myself, no doubt we have an interest but Costa is big news and  i think we could easily get blown out of the water by someone a lot richer than us - and there is nothing we can do about it. A lot like last year with Falcao and Cavani (if indeed we were interested)

We cant complain - we've done it enough times to other clubs, but lets be honest, we are not the richest players anymore. I just hope if it doesn't happen the club has been sensible and has alternative realistic targets.

Yeah we said the same thing about Falcao, won't go there because of poor crowd and poor league but let's face it players are interested in money and Monaco appeals to them.

Let's hope we have other options lined up because it would be no surprise if he went to. Monaco

I think we will get him if we want him. I dont see monaco getting him, they dont want him and i dont think he will want to go. PSG have enough strikers as do Man city. We can outbid anyone else.

How do you know they don't want him?

I think we'll get him no matter the cost, if it turns into a horrible bidding war with Monaco or whoever I don't think we'll be afraid to put our hat in, if needs be we have a lot of fringe players that could be sold on.

Maybe Roman can set the Russian Mafia on Monaco or something?

Maybe get them to light a bag of sh*t and put it outside their door. Show 'em we mean business.

While it's in the Daily Mail alone I'm not worried.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/transfer-news-diego-costas-move-to-chelsea-could-be-off-after-monaco-come-in-with-big-money-deal-9241852.html

Now it's more worrying, "believed to be" rather than "reportedly" shows they have obviously checked the story out on their end rather than simply parrotting The Daily Mail.

Oh there have been some right gems posted on here today, haha. Great post.

falcao was owned by a 3rd party which meant he was always likely to go the highest bidder.

Athletico own 100% of costa's contract so I think the player will have more say in his destination this time round.

I'm sure the fact we have our keeper there and Torres available for transfer the cards are clearly in our favour. Costa is nailed on to be our first signing of the season.
