Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Well....but you see one does have to satisy the ingredients of the charge - whether in a court of law or be it a disciplinary charge brought by the FA.

Moreover, somewhat ironically, you then go onto providing some particulars that you say ground 'intent': the first being your loose general characterization of the player - the ad hominem/opinion as to reputation etc. That's not permissable is it? Secondly, you revert to a kind of speculative empiricism - ie. what you would've done. This is the nub of it isn't it really? What you're now saying is that the player was reckless in the placement of his foot downwards - ie. that notwithstanding that he is clearly going for the ball that he should've been more aware of where he placed his foot. What that means is that you are of the view that a player has more responsibility to avoid another player's body when playing the game than in going for the ball. I don't think that necessarily true is it?

youlots, you seem to think that I've said that he should be 100% found guilty by the FA. I haven't. I've simply given my opinion that he did it deliberately, yes, based on anecdotal evidence. Nowhere have I said that its good enough for an FA verdict.

No - not at all - I'm sure you don't feel that way & I never assumed that you did. I was only interested in why & on what basis you concluded that he was 'deserving' of a ban.

According to TalkSport, Diego Costa is going to appeal.

Chelsea's Diego Costa will contest the violent conduct charge he faces over an alleged stamp on Liverpool's Emre Can, he is not appealling as there is no verdict to appeal against yet.

Also there is no appeal allow in this case I believe.

I don't know how the appeal process works, but our men should turn up at the FA headquarters and produce a slide with that as the only picture, then they wouldn't ban him.

Because I think he did it deliberately. Standing on someone deliberately should = ban. And before you say it, I realise that that shouldn't be enough to get him a ban because there's no proof, but anyway, I think we're going round in circles.

He expressed concern that when the Ambulance actually got to the ground there was a problem, and he hoped all clubs, including Chelsea had measures in place to deal with a serious incident if there was a problem with the Ambulance getting through.

Apparently those comments were taken on board and his remarks were cited when Fabrice Muamba got such quick treatment...

Because of Jose reaction to the problems the FA implimented that all grounds should have a

ambulance & a medical doctor on stand by just incase there is a problem.

Well yes your argument does have the ring of circularity to it: your proposition mixs premise & conclusion - petitio principii. I think our discussion has been instructive nonetheless - don't you think?

Those that think there is a media campaign are given more ammunition when you see a supposed news story used as a means to have a personal dig at the club

The classless club reacted to the FA charging Diego Costa for his blatant stamping offences by not holding a press conference before Saturday's pivotal Premier League game against Manchester City. Pathetic. The decision was supported by chairman Bruce Buck and the club board as well as communications chief Steve Atkins.

That definitely shows that there is a media campaign against us. ‘classless club’, ‘pathetic’, I'm actually just sick and tired of childish little prats writing garbage like this in the papers, I didn't care before, but these people are taking it too far, I hope the s*itty little club that Charlie Sale's supports goes in to liquidation.

Agenda.. aptly named. If that had been printed about Fergie's United, the hack who wrote it would never have been allowed near a United press conference again.

You don't forget this dirty kid..

And not the only one. Years ago in a match at Anfield Gerrard completely flattened SWP with an elbow. You knew he was guilty, because once they replayed it Andy Gray didn't say a word for a few minutes, a rare treat. You probably remember the endless replays of it on Sky.

I have one thing to add regarding Charlie Sale's, he should ask the Bradford Chairman if Chelsea are classless. Their Chairman called TalkSport the other day and said that we get a lot of stick, but he thought that we were brilliant, very gracious in defeat he said, classless my a**.

Sickening, and totally undeserved.

The sort of comment which is only reserved for us.

"Classless club".

Of course there's no media agenda against Chelsea, it's all in our imaginations.

Costa was he lucky to stay on the field? Yes. But also Lucas & Henderson. Does he deserve to get banned retrospectively? Not in my opinion.

Bloody hell, Thierry joins the "he shouldn't be banned" camp. But Sky are still pushing the crime against football view. Hmmm...

Clearly Redknapp is as liked in the Sky Sports dressing room as he is here

Not happy seeing Chelsea fans getting angry and upset at Costa. He has always been a fighter and he will still show that battle and cross the line at times. I wouldn't change it for the world. THAT is why he is here banging in goals for fun, because he fights til the referee blows the whistle.

If the ban is upheld, we turn to our other options and we go out to win. If it isn't uphelp, Costa can lead the strike force and hpefully bang in a few (Hopefully ;) )

I guess some professionalism is too much to ask for from some members of the British media...*sigh*

Then again, this is the country where The Sun is allowed to circulate, so what do I know?

Altogether now....DIEGO STAMPS ON SCOUSERS,DIEGO STAMPS ON SCOUSERS,LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA. Just a shame it wasnt a lot harder.Bollocks to the media, the dippers,Jamie f**king Redcrap and Brenda Rodgers! What a shame he didnt deck Stevie slip up.

What it shows is that Charles Sale is a prick who doesn't much like us. It doesn't mean the Mail newspaper or group as a whole has an agenda against us, nor the media as a whole.

What it gives fuel to are the shrill calls that we're always the victim.

Just wish he left a bit more on both the c*nts if he's getting banned for it anyway.

Just find it hilarious how it's been 'fastracked' for Saturday, if that was Rooney it would take weeks and they'd probably let it apply for friendlies or something.

There's an obvious agenda going on, even with us now playing 'good' football our tactical solidity pisses people off and they want the type of disorganised matches that City, Arsenal and Utd have.

We'll still win the league, I love the everybody against us mentality, it brings me back to Barca in 09 and the hurt that caused and then the joy in Munich just knowing everybody wanted us to lose.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Show us an article, any article, in a mainstream British newspaper, where another columnist uses a similar term to describe a major club (as in the club itself, don't try and cheat).

You've got the whole world wide web at your disposal.

Should be easy.

And no more fudging, just do it.

Give us some bloody evidence to back up your piffle.

Come on Blue Daze, now's your moment.

You've talked the talked now walk the walk.

Can you deliver .. ?

Good catch. One more thing I like to offer. I know it's from a couple of years ago, but remember when CFC won the European Cup & how Blatter was saying the PK system needed to be abolished? If CFC lost, I am sure that punk wouldn't have said anything to that degree. Just another reason to hate on Blatter.
