Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

There have been various articles in the papers refering to Costa as the new Suarez. Patrick Barclay wrote that Costa is now worse than Suarez, in The Independent. It's clear to me that they would love another bad boy figure to gossip about and it also gives them more ammunition to use against us.

Who here has said that by the way?

Proof of absolutely f**k all unless you can find specific issue with his red against Swansea for example. The United one was a bad call by Clattenburg, but in his time at Liverpool I don't think he's got off lightly.

The irony of all this is that you write posts in the manner of the worst tabloid journo. You don't use facts, you use emotions, appealing to someone's sense of perceived injustice rather than actually providing substantive arguments. That's why it reminds me so much of a RAWK argument. You'll never go short of an audience for such stuff but in terms of having proper informed discussions that can actually lead to revealing hidden truths or even affecting change, it's utterly useless.

Like I said, 'always the victim...'.

By the way, I wrote to the Observer after their editorial asking them the same questions I have just posed to Blue Daze.

Rather an obvious point really, why have you asked for Terry to be sacked by his club, and Cole punished by his club, and asked for Chelsea to be abandoned by their sponsors, but not made the same demands in relation to Suarez and Liverpool?

Guess what? They didn't publish the letter. They published no such letter. Instead they only published letters further reinforcing the idea of Chelsea as a racist club.

Interesting.

Patrick Barclay wrote that Costa is now worse than Suarez

That can't be real. Only an idiot would say that

I'm pretty sure they'll be no ban.

Even if he was 100% innocent, the FA would turn round & say, he is Costa, he is Chelsea, he is guity, to the gallows with him simple.

Also about the sky pundits, over the last 2 seasons, sky have added neville, carragher, and now henry, to modernize their coverage.

The next logical step would be them to move heaven and earth to bring in an ex chelsea from the abramovic era. Joe Cole would be ideal, but over the next 3 seasons the likes of ash, lamps and Terry should also become targets, IF sky are serious about providing the best coverage in the world.

Guess we'll have to watch this space.

Terry is bound to be a pundit on MOTD or Sky.

If Hansen can last that long, so can Terry.

Honestly can't wait for the absolute sh*t storm that will result from Terry saying anything negative about Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham or United on TV. It will be glorious.

Jt is going to try his hand at being a manager, he has Bigger fish to fry than just taking easy option of a pundit job...frank on the other hand...I'm not sure he will stay in the game after his New York jolly...if he ever fulfils his commitment to them of course

Here's the Observer editorial asking for Terry to be sacked, but not Suarez, funnily enough.

Asking for Chelsea's sponsors to abandon them, but not Liverpool's funnily enough.

This was on the basis of an FA verdict, rather than the court verdict, which acquitted him.

So, if we're going on FA verdicts, Suarez committed the greater crime, he got double the ban, but The Observer, funnily enough, only ask for Terry to be sacked.

Why?

Didn't The Guardian describe the Liverpool response to Suarez's ban as 'lamentable'?

BlueDaze, You're not the bloke who used to be some sort of janitor or something at the Grauniad, are you?

Didn't Barclay say that in terms of possibly injury to the opponent, what Costa did was worse than what Suarez did? That's to say that standing on someone's leg could possibly cause more damage than biting someone.

The problem with adding Joe Cole is that he's thick as f**k. JT they've tried out, Ashley is unlikely and Frank could be a great pundit.

Nope.

twice now Riley has apologised to teams who have had poor decisions against us. I look forward to our apology over not getting the penalty when Skretl brought down Costa, it must surely already be in the post.

Here you go. Here's an apology from a referee to us.

Nice chant though haha.

and? Not sure of the link to what I wrote. A ref apologised immediately after a game to Jose, good on him. Will we get one from Riley apologising for Oliver's mistakes this week?

Plus have any other clubs had decisions apologised for by riley?

I doubt Brendan Rodgers will get one either for Costa not being sent off.

It wouldn't have been a shock if he did.

Yes, but his statement is utter rubbish, stepping on someone's protected foot, is not going to coarse more damage than sinking your teeth in to someone's kneck/arm. Besides, look at the headline, it doesn't mention the words in terms of possible injury to the opponent, it just says Costa's stamps, worse than Suarez bites. I wouldn't call a Chelsea favourite thick as f*ck either.

I think it would. I remember it happening with the Ramires dive but can't remember it happening another time let alone reguarly.

Sorry mate but can't agree with that. Having someone put their foot on your leg on a football pitch or a rugby pitch is ALWAYS risky. A bite is a scumbag move but in terms of damage, it's not even in the same ball park in terms of possible damage.

As for Joe Cole, great footballer that he is he isn't really made for TV.

I get the feeling you are bring intentinally difficult.

Putting your weight, studs and all, on someones leg is more dangerous than bitting someone. How is this even debatable? Good thing you aren't a doctor, you would probably snub the gunshot wound in my chest in favour of someone who got a scratch from tripping over.

Since when do headlines ever tell the full story? Are you new to the media?

Biting is much more unacceptable to footballers than a stamp, and can cause a hell of a lot of damage Due to infection etc.
